Yoko Ono has recruited Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Sonic Youths Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, Bette Midler and more artists for the first Plastic Ono Band show in 40 years: a special concert on February 16th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. The new Plastic Ono Band will be comprised of Onos son Sean Lennon plus Japanese musicians like Cibo Mattos Yuka Honda, Yellow Magic Orchestras Haruomi Hosono and Cornelius, who also worked on Onos 2009 album Between My Head and the Sky.
Both Clapton and bassist Klaus Voorman, whos also confirmed for the Brooklyn event, were members of the original Plastic Ono Band that featured on the album Live Peace in Toronto 1969 and the Cold Turkey single, while drummer Jim Keltner played on Lennons Imagine disc. Rounding out this eclectic crew of performers are Paul Simons son and recent Breaking artist Harper Simon, Martha Wainwright, Mark Ronson, the Scissor Sisters and Justin Bond. Tickets for the Plastic Ono Band event go on sale tomorrow, January 12th at the BAM website.

Dang MS spellcheck. Title should be “Ono” (if anyone still cares)
Oh No is right. That was a horrible accident that should not be tried again.
Isn’t Yucko Oh No the one who mimicked some kind of bathroom sounds and called it music, back in the 60s?
In the mid 1970’s the Plastic Ono band was considered a joke. A perfect example of “It’s not who you know. It’s who.....”
Without Dr. Winston O’Boogie, it’s a bust. Just Yoko writing checks out of her massive bank account...is all.
Have you ever heard her primal screams? Run for the hills, I’m here to tell you! No thanks.
I think Dennis Leary spoke for all of us here:
“What kind of country is this where John Lennon gets six bullets in the chest, Yoko is standing right next to him and not one f’ing bullet....Explain THAT to me.”
Cold turkey that. That band sounded like an orphanage burning down.
Senator Paul Simon died in 2003. They must mean the other Paul Simon.
It was cr@ the first time I expect much less this time!
Coulda fooled me! I just assumed it was a take-off on her "BagOne" (ie; Bhagwan) art project from years ago. Wonder what it's like having a BILLION dollars and nothing to do? Hang it up already, Yoko. John was your meal ticket, period, end of story.
It was cr@p the first time I expect much less this time!
Yoko ono exceeded her 15 minutes a LONG time ago. It’s long overdue time for her to sit back with a nice steaming hot cup of STFU.
Gee, I hope Yoko hasn’t lost her voice!
Why would they do that to themselves?
Guess Paul & Ringo opted out. Smart blokes. (I know....they were never even asked, thank the Lord)
