RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Several media outlets are reporting Jim Mora is out after one season as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.

Foxsports.com is the first to report Friday that Mora has been fired after Seattle went 5-11 in his first season after taking over from Mike Holmgren. KJR-AM in Seattle says it received a text message from Mora confirming he was fired.

Calls and e-mails to team officials by The Associated Press seeking confirmation were not immediately returned.

Considering how Atlanta improved after Mora left not a surprise he was a flop in Seattle.

I am not surprised about this. I just hope next year is much better.

I’ve always like Mora, but it just doesn’t seem like he has “it” to be a head coach in the NFL. I hope he finds a good spot as a coordinator or in college.

Holmgren is coming back. I wonder if he’s talking with Seattle?

I wish the same thing would happen in Denver!

I'll bet if he thought Mora was going to be booted he would have waited to sign with Cleveland.

Holmgren left Seattle, if he’d still wanted that job he’d still have that job.

It would certainly be groundbreaking for the VP for the Browns to also be the head coach of the Seahawks...

A head coach Jim Mora is not. He’ll land a gig as coordinator somewhere.

I KNOW; let Philly hire him. He LOVES ‘Vickie-poo’. Maybe they can find a place for Zorn, too.

Ditto. Josh McDaniels needed at least two more years of seasoning before stepping up to a head coach gig in the NFL. His inability to deal with player issues is a direct result of his immaturity, many of the Broncos lack respect for him. That is a NFL head coach career killer ...

You said it better than I did. Absolutely correct!

Jay Cutler - Pro-Bowl - GONE

Brandon Marshall - Pro-Bowl - GONE

Tony Scheffler - Outstanding young Tight End (2nd Round Draft Choice 2006)- GONE

I want Jr. Hoody - GONE

ESPN is all over reports that Pete Carroll from USC may be the reason the Seahawks are firing Mora.

Thinking outside the box, though, why can’t the Browns and Seahawks just merge? Maybe they can have a good team if they just combine both rosters. Otherwise, they’re just pathetic.
Merge the two teams and create an expansion franchise for L.A.
