Apology for the brutal editing ...see link above for full story.
In my own life, in my own small way, I have tried to give back to this country that has given me so much, she said. See, thats why I left a job at a big law firm for a career in public service, Michelle Obama

Interesting. But without context, specifically the staffs of previous first ladies, it’s meaningless.

Laura Bush had almost the exact same size staff.

There has been some discussion of Michelle Obamas staff payroll compared to Laura Bushs. Here are the results of my investigation.
Michelle Obama has 16 paid staff which cost the American taxpayers $1,256,700.
Laura Bush had 10 paid staff which cost the American taxpayers $764,900.
A difference of $491,800.
This was in August. Looks like the staff increased by 10 since then. So my guess is we’re probably looking at a $1,000,000 difference in salaries.

Although you have to wonder if they’re comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges.
Also at the end of the Bush Presidency, Laura Bush had 26 paid staff, but how many of them may have been brought on to help transition them out of the White House.
The one I’m curious about is Hillary’s staff size. (There’s a bad joke in there somewhere).

LOL ...Ask for the position to be created. Certainly you could do better!
What irks me is that most of these positions [not counting bennies] pays more than most people make ...yet we are shouldering the bill.

Reading this, I was thinking, logically, “maybe that’s one thing Carter did right, having only a few staff people for Rosalynn the First Lady. So I googled it, and the first thing that came up (from 1977) was “Rosalynn Carter’s personal staff largest ever”-—21 people, at a taxpayer cost of $650,000. What would that be in today’s money-—closer to 1.4 million?
To: Daffynition
26 ladies in waiting and not one of them gives the queen any advice on how to dress.

These idiots, and all other potus and their tribe as well, can wipe their own butts!
Nor do they rate that fortified national palace on Penna Ave.
Give potus a monthly allowance, say....equal to a senior NCO/junior officer in our armed forces for rent at some abandoned strip-mall somewhere. Nor should we pay for his protection, transportation, etc., etc.

Laura Bush is a lovely lady, and I always got extremely angry when people made fun of her figure and looks. I swear I saw the same type of photo-cartooning using her backside. It doesn't take any thought and talent to do this. Well, I guess if it makes you feel witty and clever....

Man for someone who has been unemployed since July, this hurts to see..
