I agree - that is one of the best movie scenes - EVER!

Bad enough they left off “Gone With the Wind” but “Braveheart”, too. No credibility.

You missed:

It Happened One Night

and

To Kill a Mockingbird

and perhaps a few others.

My favorite is Laszlo's: And what if you track down these men and kill them? What if you murdered all of us? From every corner of Europe, hundreds, thousands, would rise to take our places. Even Nazis can't kill that fast.

So easily applied to the current situation.

Those ancients certainly were well-groomed back then.

My all time favorite, and I CANNOT believe they have “The Invasion of the Body Snatchers” but not my favorite:

“The Best Years of Our Lives”. Won best picture in 1946, and deservedly so. The themes are timeless, and just as apropo today as they were back then.

Since Clint Eastwood is a well-established Conservative, I am surprised that "Unforgiven" made the list. It was a great film, but I liked "Dirty Harry" more.

Still cannot understand why Stallone's "Rocky" was snubbed in favor of "Raging Bull."

Probably because Stallone is a Conservative?

exactly... no gone with the wind, no sound of music... so we have to ask on what criteria. Inflation adjusted, market penetration adjusted, these are probably the two greatest movies....intuitively speaking...

Any list that doesn’t include “The Great Escape” is a waste of time!

I like me some Jackie Chan films but Drunken Master II isn’t even HIS “A-list #1 BEST EVER...” movie and is ill chosen for this list.

My 9 year old niece saw Avatar over the Christmas holidays. Her review....” It’s Pocahontas with blue people.”

So much for originality.

The Purple Rose of Cairo? Really?

And Mr. Smith Goes To Washington did NOT make their list. Must’ve been too critical on the media...
