Dodd, Dorgan And Ritter: Quitters?
1/6/10 | Laissez-Faire Capitalist

Posted on 01/06/2010 7:13:07 AM PST by Laissez-faire capitalist

Are Dodd, Dorgan and Ritter quitters?

One would think that the State Run Media would surely be consistent and affix the label of quitter upon them.

Surely...

I mean, didn't the State Run Media call someone else a "quitter" when she left the governors office to move on with her life and expand her horizons, both political and otherwise?

We hear the action lines spouted by Dorgan, Dodd and Ritter (Democrats all) being promoted by the State Run Media as to why they are retiring, yet we know that it is because they have seen the hand writing on the wall. And they know that the prospects of 2010 do not bode well for them.

But where is the consistency in these matters?

Ah, consistency... Something that seems to be in short supply these days, especially in the newspaper columns and on the sets of todays SRM.

Democrats/Liberals/State Run Media: Hypocrites

Indeed, this is shown to be true, once again.

They are consistent. Consistently biased in favor of the Democrats.

Great point...I didn’t even think of Palin after the Tuesday announcements...but you are exactly right.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines

Those three should not be let off so easily by their respective citizenry.

Tar and feathers, minimally, preceeded by an Indonesian style bamboo party.

That line - I know it well.

It is the he preferred excuse of those who are known to dabble in hypocrisy just a little too often.

It may not be that simple. What the Dems know that we don't: Universal Voter Registration

I assumed that you, and most everyone else, would recognize it. If you are being crossed examined in front a jury, don’t even think about invoking it.

Internal consistency is the hallmark of truth.

No, they’re not “quitters”. They’re idiots, but they aren’t quitters. It is traditionally described as “retirement” in politics if a sitting politician announces that they won’t stand for reelection. If they had left in the middle of the term, then yes, they would be quitting. As it stands, they both have said that - like the five retiring GOP Senators - that they will complete their terms. If they don’t complete their terms - like Mel Martinez - then they will be quitters.

I heard about it yesterday on Fox News.

What’s next, forcing people to vote whether they want to or not? I mean, they are contemplating registering people to vote whether they want to or not.

Hard to imagine it passing, though not impossible by any stretch of the imagination. Even harder to imagine it surviving the judicial ladder all the way up to SCOTUS.

Rumors of pending arrests surrounding the Ritter gang.

Hope it pans out.

Tar and feathers, minimally, preceeded by an Indonesian style bamboo party.

Set an example for the rest of the POS statists. Then, they may all leave.

Now Dodd will be free to go sit at Teddy Kennedy’s grave everyday and talk with him about the good old days.

One small difference. They are completing their terms and not seeking re-election. Governor Palin walked away before completing her term in office.

I didn’t know that anyone was required to stay at any job for any length of time?

Was Bill Clinton a quitter when he promised that he would serve out his term as governor in Arkansas prior to him running for president?

In the end, liberals would say that he was just moving on to greener pastures. Then again, tis because liberals will always look for a way to provide themselves an excuse and/or loophole for their actions.

IOW, “Well, it’s for this reason, or well’ it’s for that reason...”

I mean, it’s just sex when liberals are caught fooling around on their mates, but its an entiirely different thing when conservatives are caught.

Even though conservatives hold themselves to higher standards, and it is hypocritical for them to go back on those standards, it is still hypocritical for liberals to apply one standard for themselves and another standard to conservatives.

I suspect, assuming the story is correct, Dodd will either be given some position by BO, be hired by some outside organization or start his own lobbying firm that will try to further the socialist agenda.

Then, they may all leave.

Or ban bamboo, tar, and feathers.

So did Bill Clinton.

But liberals will say that he was just moving on to greener pastures. They always have an excuse and I am tired of it. Tired.

Obama could do what Sarah Palin did and you would hear liberals singing an entirely different tune.

You know it, I know it, and so does everyone else.

Ritter just had “staff photos” done. He spent yesterdat am on local radio laying out his agenda. Whatever it is happened after 9:00 am yesterday.

We’ll see if he finishes his term. Can you say “Cory Voorhis”?
