How much would you donate to FR for the ability to filter?

On top of regular donations how much would you kick in to be able to filter things out when you browse FR?

There are certain subjects I'd rather not bother with and there are certain posters I'd rather not bother with.

I'd kick in a few bucks for the extra functionality.

How much would you kick in for this ability?

Conservatives are much hardier stuff than having to have a higher authority (government, or web admin) filter out things (life, people you don’t like) you wish to ignore.

I expect such things from liberals, or Nanny-Staters.

It could be as simple as just a keyword and username filter.

You are assuming that everyone follows some strict 'protocol' when assigning keywords, and that users can't get on with a different (new) username, and that a certain 'keyword' won't be used on posts that you want to read.

Yep. There's plenty of other political forums out there with filtering and blocking. Sometimes Jim gets criticized for his "90s-era HTML format" but I like the way it works and, most importantly, I'm used to it.

I would have to use my own brain to decide who or what I don’t care to read.

It’s really not difficult to understand.

How about a few examples:

JoeBlow and cronies are one trick ponies that beat the same dead horse everyday day all day. I can then add whatever username I choose not to read.
Or maybe I’m just sick of a certain subject/keyword. I can just select or input a keyword to ignore.

Now when I come on I get pages of stuff I want to read and participate in, not wade through pages of things of no interest.

Ummmm..., just in reading some of the comments here, it would appear to me that there is some sort of "cognitive dissonance" going on with some of your ideas and suggestions -- and perhaps the rest of Free Republic... :-)
