It is nice and cozy warm up near the ceiling, no matter how many times I chased her off she went back as soon as I wasn't watching. I took everything off the the shelf and put her pad up there!

Dogs have owners, cats have staff. You are staff.

Well said. Another good one I heard from Rush Limbaugh on his show:

A dog thinks: You feed me, you must be God.

A cat thinks: You feed me, I must be God.

I have more cats than I can count, and they rule this house.
You have a beautiful cat!

Squire Tom was watching CATS 101 the other evening, meowing at the cats on the TV screen. Rascal, the dog looks at the cat, at the TV and then at me and rolls her eyes......

siamesecats in the cat world are what Dachshounds are in the dog world.

The two Labradors just do what ever the doxie tells them to do.

I am even gullable to his bossiness some days.

I once had a house in Washington State where the kitchen cupboards “floated” in a room with 9 ft. ceilings. The minute we moved there, the cats learned how to jump up to the tops of the cupboards in 2 bounds — first to the counter and then all the way to the top. They lived up there for about 5 years until I persuaded my husband to retrofit soffits. He worked on these for several weeks, gradually filling up the space all around.

When the final hole was filled, one of my big Siamese cats launched his customary flying leap upward — splat against the soffit — and down to the countertop and off on the floor he fell. He wasn’t hurt, but he stalked off allowing his switching tail to demonstrate his great displeasure!

A pillow case and two bricks will solve your problem.

My kitty loves to be on top of the china cabinet and the refrigerator. On top of the refrigerator door, there is a Jack in the Box antenna ball that is held on with a magnet. He gets knocked down to the floor quite often.

Someone has been eyeing the top of the entertainment center too, but hasn't worked up the nerve to try that one yet.

I think every cat would love something like this.

Our cat, Fat Mike, is just going to go wherever he wants once we all leave the house, so why go through the charade of pretending he doesn’t while we’re around?

she’s adorable and btw, while we are on the subject of kitties i’m having a problem with one of mine that came to find me about 3 yrs ago. He was in bad shape 3 yrs ago and it was end of winter and he was pretty roughed up. Gradually he gained trust and now he’s been an indoor cat (when he wants to even in the summer) but mostly outdoor cat.
I let him come and go as he pleases and last winter he was really good about staying in if the weather here was bad -he seemed to know that it wasn’t good to go out and if he did (i’ve not kept and indoor litter pan for him until tonight) he would come right back(im in Vermont)

He went out on Thursday in the am and then came back around midnight. He left again and since Thursday it’s been snow off and on . It has only been within the past few hours that we are really getting hit with the snow. He did finally return and I’m keeping him inside whether he likes it not.

This is my problem: He’s crying crying & scratching to go out. I gave him his treat of canned cat food, he has crunchies & water. I talked to him & petted him . I’ve been playing videos of cats saying “hello” when he really starts to get antsy and really digging at the window to get out then he stops a little & then starts looking for the cat he can’t see but only hear. He’ll be quiet & calm for about 20 mins & then he starts up again. I can’t let him out- it’s actually very dangerous conditions. I also gave him ssome catnip to ease him a little bit but he’s still crying & i know this is going to go on ALL night. Oh, one thing I did do-was fix him his own litter box in a quiet place and showed it too him. He went & sat in it a little while ago so it’s not like he HAS to go out to pee.

Anyone have any suggestions?

What a beautiful little girl!

I had my Missy for almost 20 years; may your Missy stay with you for at least as long.

Be careful when you stay elsewhere - once you’re used to a bed on the floor, it’s possible to hurt oneself when getting up during the night at someone else’s house - with a high bed.
