That’s true. No matter what I want to do, His will trumps mine.

I would be honored to have God laugh at me. I sincerely hope that He got His share of belly laughs and knee slappers at my expense, with more to come. :)

If you have ever supervised or manged people you know that God has a terrific sense of humor. I truly believe that he laughs at us and with us. Our emotions are of his creation.

A friend said to me the other day: “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.”

That's a line from a song. Google shows it as coming from Van Zant, but I remember it from a Montgomery Gentry song too.

Do you make God laugh?

Yes.

The only thing in doubt is whether it's "with" or "at".

I wanted to do everything my brother did. I could fish, deliver newspapers, climb buildings, play baseball with the best of them....but couldn't be an altar boy.

But I had a plan!!

I went to our little church and walked down the aisle. I genuflected respectfully...took a deep breath and climbed over the rail.

I knelt down and lifted the bells and on my own "mea culpa" cue...rang the bells 3 times.

Back over the railing, genuflected and a quick splash of holy water and I was back on the street.

But I had that feeling....like someone was watching me and laughing.

I was thinking about leaving my place of employment and there not being a revival because of my lack of prayer for the place. Then I thought about Jonah having to go to Ninevah and telling the pagans there they needed to repent because God was going to send judgment upon them but not wanting them to and hoping God would do so. So then I thought about how I have decided to pray for justice upon our nation instead of Mercy! Kind of like a reverse psychology prayer to God. :) If He thinks I’m like Jonah, He might just get this nation to repent and turn back to their first love.

I just laughed and thought of God laughing with me and your thread.
