WHY DOES GOD APPEAR SO MEAN?
TruthInConviction ^ | Dec 31 | J. Grant Swank, Jr.

“Grant, I wonder if you are a football fan? Just because, if so, I hope you're demanding to the team ownership that the whole team should be put to death immediately. After all, a literal reading of the Bible does tell us that anyone who works on Sunday should be killed, right? And you've apparently linked belief in Christ with blindly following everything in the Bible.”

Sunday worship is a Pagan myth promulgated by the Roman church in the fourth century.

Worship on the first day of the week was instituted within the lifetime of the witnesses of the resurrection.

Good advice in general: don’t take advice about Christianity from non-Christians.

Ok, so you’ve had some time.

Alright, this was not a pretty death. Yet I have found that God gives ALL things out of love, and there is love to be found even in THAT horrible time.

The love I would see out of that is:
1) You learned to appreciate YOUR health more. You learned to embrace YOUR life more.
2) You were THERE for your mother. You had the chance to SHOW your love for her with ACTION.
3) Her life was undoubtedly one of service. She served others and made a difference. She had YOU and you serve others for the betterment of our condition, do you not? You leave a footprint on the beach of humanity, do you not?

Even ugliness is turned for the good if we stop and look for the messages. I would not have broached this topic if the pain was fresh, but after four years, its time to consider other ways of thinking.

One thing I have discovered, is that if I feel pain or stress about something, I am probably believing something that is not true.

Look for the lack of comfort you are feeling about this, and ask yourself what untruth you are believing. Maybe it is that she should not have died? Maybe it is that death is not painful? Who knows. Look in your own heart.

Byron Katie. Look for her on the intertubes. She talks about something called The Work. Read that, if you do not believe in a conscious God.

I myself do not believe in a conscious God, or at least OUR USUAL CONCEPTION of a conscious God. I believe the Creator IS the Creation, and that our ability to grasp the Mind of God is folly, for God is ALL consciousness and that He CANNOT be grasped by our tiny little 10 or so pound brains.

You say you do not believe in God. I did not either, until I stopped and saw the many millions of ‘coincidences’ that God, in His non-human-shaped consciousness put into my life.

It cannot be that there is no God. This is what I concluded. All my life has operated to make me more aware of what I truly am.

And what I truly am, is not my mind, and it is not my body, and it is not my fleeting emotions. All I truly am is the force of Love, and that force of Love is all that God is made out of, too.

Peace and joy to you, friend. I hope some of this made sense.

WHY DOES GOD APPEAR SO MEAN?

Why did he allow children to be murdered on this past Christmas Eve?

I'm not trying to be smart or anything, all I'm trying to do is get a grasp on why God allows such things to happen to innocent children.......

One day out of seven is still a seventh day every week. Besides, the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

There IS NO death penalty regarding Sabbath prohibitions. The questioner never meant to pose a real question anyway — he was merely scoffing.

Swank, on the other hand, errs in his understanding and presentation of the Biblical sanction of the death penalty. He does this by confusing God’s commandments for His followers — the Body of Christ — and God’s mandate for human government — which He also instituted between 4000-4500 yrs ago (Genesis 9). In other words, it predates the Mosaic Laws given to Israel (c. 1400 BC) though Swank rightly recognizes the reasons for stricter laws in that context. As Paul demonstrates, however, in Romans 13:1-7, this basic mandate of human government remains in effect today.

God allows such things to happen to test the faith of us all. Those that feel nothing when such things happen will feel his wrath, those that feel sorrow and loss walk the path God intended and those that ask why get to choose between the two.

Choose carefully.

Flooding the Earth and wiping out most of humanity? I’d say he has his moments.

Well, I'm struggling for a metaphor that would make it make more sense and less mean, but maybe it would help to think of it it terms of a disk wipe and clean install?

Running with that, the contents of the Earth OS and nearly all files were corrupted beyond hope of salvaging. The ark was backed up, and the uncorrupted files from backup were reinstalled afterwards.

There was more to the antediluvian sin and corruption than is generally understood, too. It was pretty complete, even on the physical level. See 1 Enoch if you're interested.

Yes. It's funny but also sad to hear my Muslim friends tell me all about the Bible and how the original really wasn't like what we have now and how this and that has been changed and how the prophecy about Muhammad had been excised by the religious authorities. It's weird that the parts that got changed just happen to be those that make Judaism and Jesus completely unique so that denying them involves making the whole contraption a cart without wheels. Of course, they have their corrected gospel and Biblical history in the Koran along with their fuller gospel of Muhammad that puts it all into perspective. Wait a second, this sounds strangely familiar.

U-2012>Sunday worship is a Pagan myth promulgated by the Roman church in the fourth century.

What a load of hogwash.

Sunday worship is only fitting to commemorate the wonderful Sunday morning when the women found the stone turned away and knew that Our Lord Jesus Christ, Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, had risen from the dead.

There is nothing pagan about the Catholic Church, founded by Christ circa AD 33, nor is there anything pagan about the celebration of His Glorious Easter Sunday Resurrection.

Did YHvH or His salvation change the Ten Commandments?

Of cause not !

Did YHvh or His salvation reject His commanded Feast days
and replace them with Pagan Feasts.

Of cause not !

Yah'shua did not create the Roman catholic "church" !

The Roman "church" was created at Nicea
by the Pagan Pontiff Constantine.

They will claim that Easter and Christmas are pagan and slavishly repeat vicious lies about Jesus Christ and His Church.
