Just hit ‘Enter’ and see what happens.

Most wireless routers have a password for security. Find the manual for yours and follow the steps to change it, if you have forgotten it.

If you are asking about a password to connect to a wireless network, it is probably on the bar code on the back of your router (8-12 digit number).

Look under or on the side of the wireless router - most have the key needed to access the wireless somewhere printed on it or in the instructions.

look on the modem and its one of the numbers listed under the serial number. She might have to try each set of numbers until her wireless accepts it.

Hope this helps.

If you don't know it, you probably didn't enable encryption anyway.

You're neighbors have probably been watching Netflix on your bandwidth.

That's how I do it.

If not on the router, log on to the routers web site. netgear.com for example.

you could always reset your router. Of course you would need to know how to configure it again

If you have a wireless router, you probably would have to log in to the router to set/change the security settings. Try doing a websearch for your brand of router, and it will tell you how to login to it. When you do that, you will be able to get the WEP key code which you can enter into the wireless laptop so that it can log on to your wireless network.

Is it her computer password? If she didn’t tell you then you can’t use the computer.

There is no workaround short of guessing (for our purposes).

If it is the router, try password for the password.

But best to look up the users manual for your router. Did someone password it for you? They usually come with no password requiremet.

Dear Lord, I pray that you give navysealdad the patience and the strength to overcome this obstacle. Keep his heart rate down, and his humor up. And as much as it may pain him - please give him the courage to say “no” to his grandaughter after his valiant trys. (May I suggest getting her a pony instead!).

Well - I wish somebody had said that prayer for me when it came time with my son’s I-touch! I still didn’t get it to work, then somehow disabled the wireless altogether. No big deal, for now. I suppose one of these days I’ll have to try to figure it out again. I think my main problem was forgetting that I had moved the original pc that was on the router to a secondary location, but still linked to the router. So, I was using my new pc to try to change the codes, when I should have been using the other one.

For the network select : linksys

For the password, just hit enter.

Everytime I start up my laptop, I get three or four of these from neighbors. Its amazing someone hasnt stolen their ID’s and taken away all of their money.

Look underneath the router for the IP address. Next, type in the IP address into a browser url field (ex. http://xxx.xxx.x.x) That should take you to the router login page. The underside of your router should give you your default login and passwordex. Login - Admin / Password - leave blank. If you can get in, you should then be able to go into wireless settings and see your password. If there is none, I would add one.

most routers use “admin” for a default password and username. Netgears do.

Who is the maker of your router? That’ll be some clue.
