During the Minnesota Vikings' 10-1 start, coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre celebrated plenty of highs.
But their relationship hit a low Sunday night during and after a 26-7 loss to the Carolina Panthers. NBC cameras captured Childress and Favre having an animated discussion on the sideline in the third quarter, which the quarterback later said revolved around the coach's inclination to plug in backup Tarvaris Jackson.

Here comes the Viqueens meltdown. Hey, it takes hard work to keep this going...

"I think he probably gave you a stream of consciousness from the best of his recollection, wouldn't you say? Yeah," Childress said. "The great thing about telling the truth is you can tell it over and over again."Childress seems to love to use that phrase, "stream of consciousness." I think I'd throw up if I had a coach that kept saying that type of thing.
All is not well in Vikingland. We told you guys....

This is so delicious. I am a Green Bay fan and a Brett Favre fan. I have the best of both worlds now - I can root for the Packers and I can enjoy watching Brett Favre in action. I say “enjoy” now, because he is someone else’s problem. His whining and pouting and sulking behaviors are now someone else’s problem. I will be experiencing schadenfreude in the post season when Favre puts the Vikings’ staff and the fans through his annual retirement angst.

All Jackson did last year was prove that the Vikings could go a year without a quarterback. Farve just had to be serviceable and he would be better than Jackson. That being said, despite the team’s record, Childress is still one of the worst coaches in the NFL.

Favre is getting to be like an old Romo the way he fades at the end of the year every year. All we need now is the standard 3 picks in their first playoff game.

Favre is a prima donna. Always has been. Always will be. Regardless of whether Childress was wrong or not, the fact Brett openly dismissed a coaching decision is selfish, and completely undermines the 'team'. Oh but I forgot. This is Favre. There is no team, just him.
Jason Whitlock had a great column yesterday about it. Basically, he said to Favre, 'shut up and play'.
Here's my thing. If Favre wants to stay out there and get rolled over and over by Peppers, go for it! I enjoyed watching it immensely.

I am really sick of reading about Bret Favre's many issues off the field. One observation though.
When Favre was with Green Bay he was never known as a prima donna and developed a reputation for being one of the greatest QBs of all time.
After Favre officially retired from Green Bay it has been one drama after another. Maybe Mike McCarthy deserves some credit for dealing with Bret and resolving their issues in private. Favre is still a great QB, but the Vikings are a very good team without him. They made the playoffs last year with a really terrible QB. It will be interesting to see if the Vikings have a late season collapse like the Jets did last year.

You’d better do little more research about Brett and Green Bay.

Personally, I am looking forward to another of this slobbering, blubbering retirement speeches. I think he is at his most articulate when giving these....

Yep. Yep. Of course, I’m looking forward to the pounding he’s going to take since their left tackle is a turn style.

Modern professional sports teach these guys to be prima donnas. They clean up after them, lie for them, pay them millions of dollars despite their bad behavior, on field and off. Brett, at least has some style and humor . . . and he is willing to pay the physical price for his decisions. As soon as I tuned in the Vikings-Panthers game and saw Brett's red nose, I knew his performance was going to be poor. Brett is a hothouse flower and
can't play in the cold, which is why he wanted to play for the Vikings as they have a dome. I guess Brett didn't realize it could be 37 degrees in Charlotte NC.

Most of the problem now is that our O-line has mysteriously vanished. This same crew, save Loadholt, was the best in the NFL last year. The last four games they have been mediocre at best.

Wholeheartedly agree. The playoff game the Pack played against the Giants was proof. And that was how many years ago? He had the mobility of an 80 year old. I love that Favre fans say, 'oh it was only 10 degrees!'. Yeah, funny how the Giants didn't seem to have problems with the cold.
Favre is lucky, though, because it looks like he won't have to play in the cold in the playoffs.

Peterson’s not helping very much. 35 yards rushing last game?

No sympathy. Chilress wanted him, forced the rest of us t suffer another year of the prima donna, now he gets the headache that comes with him.
To: big'ol_freeper
Love it. Keep it up, Brett, you bozo.

There’s no doubt they will draft a QB this in 2010.

Since I am a Vikings fan and it wasn't my 25 million, it was money well spent just to see Farve and the Vikings sweep Green Bay this year. If the Pack is lucky enough to make it to the play-offs, Maybe I'll get to see it happen one more time :) Merry Christmas Titletown!
