Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, told hospital staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he did not want an autopsy performed on his deceased wife, multiple sources tell TMZ.
We're told, however, despite Monjack's wishes, the L.A. County Coroner's office will perform an autopsy on Murphy. As we first reported, Murphy went into cardiac arrest this morning and could not be revived.
TMZ has also learned Britney Murphy's mother, who found Murphy unconscious in the shower and called 911, told paramedics her daughter had a history of diabetes. We have not been able to confirm if Murphy did indeed have diabetes, and if so, whether it contributed to her death.
They *do* ask for consent.
Simon Monjack's best side.
“They *do* ask for consent.”
The hospital would, I’m not so sure the Coroner would have too.
Hubby has some kind of shady reputation, we’ll see what happens.
When a 32 year old woman in good health dies suddenly,
WHY
would you NOT want an autopsy?
Id’ certainly want one if I were him.
Something stinks here.
What's hubby hiding?
Insurance money doesn't pay if it's murder?
And it could be a bereaved man who didn’t like the thought of someone cutting up his wife’s body. I’ll wait for the results before deciding which it is.
Pepsi?
Murphy’s friends said they feared that she died in a similar way to Jackson and Hollywood insiders said she had a long running problem with prescription drugs.
One source said: ‘We have been very worried that something like this was about to happen. Brittany has been living life on the edge.
‘She definitely had a drug problem and we have all begged her to seek help. Sadly our words fell on deaf ears.’
Another added that Murphy, who just over a month ago celebrated her 32nd birthday, had struggled to beat a prescription drug problem since becoming hooked on painkillers after undergoing a series of plastic surgery procedures.
It was also claimed that the drugs she was using included Vicodin - a painkiller Michael Jackson was also known to abuse.
It could be but I know when my friend’s uncle died in his store a few years ago, even though they are Jewish and autopsies are usually out of the question, they still went ahead with it because they wanted to know what killed him(Since he was only 48) turns out he had a 90 percent clog in his main artery, died of a massive heart attack. But after reading some of the stories about this guy, sounds like he has something to hide but I will wait and see as well. When someone that young dies, I would want to know what killed him/her
And if you diss them, they get on forums like this and complain about how rotten women are.
Vicodin can be pretty bad for you liver if you abuse it due to the acetaminophen it contains.
That’s what I’m saying. The hospital would ask him for consent to autopsy. He said no.
He has no choice, though...so I don’t know why the hospital didn’t just say...”there will be an autopsy”...
It just makes for a story “he said no”...which is probably sourced by some anonymous hospital employee.
At any rate...you have to figure there are a bunch of people there reeling from a death...and none of us REALLY know what happened.
I can’t imagine how it must be for them. I worked in a hospital for 5 years in ER...it’s a ROUGH time when someone dies...but now, you have the media all over it, too.
I hear ya...me too. My mother died unexpectedly, and we had an autopsy done (even though it wasn’t legally required), but people get stupid in times of crisis. I just don’t want to point fingers at anybody before we know if there is something besides a grief reaction going on.
I seem to remember reading Brittany Murphy lived with her mother until her marriage a few years ago. Someone on my facebook page said they googled her and found out she had a coke habit. Who knows what is true?
I really hate to judge a book by its cover but in this case......between him not wanting an autopsy and he looks like a real dirtball......I am judging......
The reports about him on the internet put him in the sleazeball category.
Monjack is Jewish and autopsies are against Jewish law...but I don’t think that’s the reason here.
