I don't post a lot of threads, so hopefully I got this in the correct place and won't indulge on your Christmas spirit too much..
The links below are to a series of three audio loops about, well, a farting contest. I listened to this with my father when I was perhaps 12 years old. To this day, I remember exactly where we were, what we were doing and can visualize the moment like it happened today. It became a right of passage of sorts. Our home was full of love, but not much money and farts were free, so we enjoyed them immensely.
Some 35 years later, I found the audio on the internet and made my father a CD that also included some of our favorite Jerry Clower stories (which can now all be found on Youtube.) We listened to the CD on Christmas Eve. My mother came by and said: "Are you two still listening to that disgusting stuff?" Our howling laughter had drawn her in to see what was afoot. A 47 year old son and 70 year old father laughing like two teenage boys. We also loved Jerry Clower; many of his stories hit very close to home for us as farmers.
My father passed unexpectedly 37 days later. This time of year, I find myself thinking about this last time we listened to "The Contest" together. I couldn't resist sharing and hoping another son could howl in laughter with his father.

I can’t listen to them here, but tell me, is this the “contest” between “Paul Boomer” and “Lord Windemere” using the “Zephyr window?”
If so, I heard that program myself many years ago.
I think it was produced by a University of Pittsburgh student named Rege Cordic, who became a well-known entertainer in the Pittsburgh area in the 50’s and 60’s.
It was annoying at the time, now a cute memory.
As soon as I saw this I knew what it was: something I heard, courtesy of an 8th grade classmate, and new friend of mine , nearly 50 years ago. It was a party record owned by his father. I can still see the album cover: as I remember, a basic black and white low budget thing with a Victorian era man with a handlebar moustache pictured in a line drawing and the words in script “THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP” emblazoning the bottom of the cover.
This family was Jewish, and they had just fled Cuba in the wake of Castro’s imminent takeover. Businessman who was an executive with a child’s clothing manufacturer, headquartered in the Merchandise Mart. Anyway, I have a hunch this record made it with them from Havana.
It was a lot of fun for a 12 year old to listen to: naughty naughty stuff from the “adult world”. And yeah, I will never forget the last line......”Ohhhhhhh, he S*ITS!!!!”

I FIRST HEARD GENE TRACY’S FARTING CONTEST ON AUDIO ABOUT THE SAME TIME....IS THIS ONE THE GENE TRACY AUDIO....??..

To my knowledge, it is the same. The first I heard it was on a Gene Tracy tape.
listened to it with my dad the first time also....he brought home some other gene tracy tapes as well...he would laugh his azz off at them....
