Why with dogs does the breed matter so much ... but with people we are told breed is irrelevant? I don't think the breed of dog necessarily means that much. Individual dogs that are bigger and stronger than a certain size have a higher potential to hurt people. To the extent that breed determines size, breed has some meaning. With people, the differences in size are not enough to have a big influence on the ability to do harm.
