I have met some wonderful people through Free Republic and to pick out names seems unfair as I am sure to miss out some dear freeper friends.
I will however mention the freeper I miss most of all dear GretchenM some may know her as GretchenEE.
Though I never met her in the flesh she will always remain one of my dearest friends and I miss her so much especially this time of the year.

Hey, thank you for the link! Wow...18K posts huh....should be interesting.
You're welcome, OW. If you do happen to read through it, be on the lookout for one item and let me know what you find.
There were mentions of politicians of all ilk, from Rudy to McNumbnuts, Hillary, Fred, Hunter, Cheney, etc., et al.
And up until post #18,400something, (which was not posted until 2009) I'll bet there was not one single mention of the politician/stateswoman known as Sarah Palin.
Which just goes to show that even FReepers, who I consider to be extremely knowledgeable, could not see in 2007 what is common knowledge now- that Sarah is the best thing we have going for us.
And the moral of that is that we really DO NOT KNOW exactly what the socio-political landscape is going to look like in 2012.
We know things are on a bad track with this pos in the WH, and many expect an act of terrorism between now and then, and some have predicted CWII between now and then, but none of us can see the future clearly enough to know what this country will look like in 2012.
Tell me when you are done reading that thread, was there one single person who wrote that Sarah Palin was the hope of conservatism, and would be the most prominent conservative on the national scene in 2009/2010?
As smart as some FReepers are, not one of us knows what the future will bring, or what the country will be like in 2012.

Ha! I haven’t had any in a while (oysters, I mean, not hugs).
I think I’m going to buy some over my long Christmas vacation though! A bushel of steamed oysters and a couple of pork shoulders on the grill sounds like a good time!
