The halfback “Jack Robinson” mention of UCLA is the Jackie Robinson of baseball fame. Very cool.

Whew! That was a close shave. That Cal extension campus out in Westwood has yet to defeat the Trojans, whose record against the Bruins since 1929 is now 5-0-2.

It is also noteworthy that the crowd of 103,300 was the largest ever to watch a football game west of the Mississippi—amazing, since we drew only 44,000 for our homecoming game against Washington last week.

Now it’s on to Pasadena. Go, Trojans! Beat the Vols!

I looked up the 1939 NFL Team Records. Man how some things have changed.

Now there's so many teams they all basically suck₍₁₎. Pete Rozelle sure got his 'parity'.
