Yes. That’s what I was assuming. I lived in very rural counties that had only one deputy or two deputies on duty. They could be clear across the county when you may need them in a matter of seconds.

Sounds like my mom.

“Listening to this I feel so sorry for that lady.”

Yeah, true...I don’t know what else she could have done though...

Judge: Is absolutely, positively…
Jinjo 4: Physically, mentally…
Jinjo 5: Finally, lastly,
Jinjos: Assuredly, definitely dead!
Coroner: As coroner, I studied her and thoroughly examined her And she’s not only merely dead She’s really most sincerely dead

“Also, going to the door and talking to the man could have provoked an attack. She could have been hoping that after a couple of min the guy would have just left and tried a different house.”

Probly not a bullet proof door on the house, either...talking to him could have been giving him a target...

My dogs can hear a chipmunk fart from 100 yards.

I usually have to check when my dogs raise a ruckus. I have a large Catahoula Leopard Dog and a Jack Russell Terrier that have alerted me to all sorts of critters and varmits coming near the house. Coons, possum, coyotes, bobcats. I have found cougar tracks but have not seen the damned cougar yet. Also, wetbacks tend to like cutting across my place and the dogs don't like it. I can always tell when it is a wetback around my house at night and not a critter.

What really struck me was the dispatcher saying things like, You have to protect yourself.

In my state it would be something like, OK, hide the gun, you don’t want him to grab it in a struggle, you don’t want to be holding it when the police get there, get in a room with a window and lock the door..

Giving him a warning gives him a chance to shoot first.

Paraphrasing the Coroner in the Wizard of Oz, “He’s not only merely dead, he’s really most sincerely dead.”

If they are anything like mine, they have a distinct bark. A critter would get just a courious yapping bark while an intruding stranger would get a snarling growling bark.

I felt so bad for her, too. It was clear she didn’t want to do it but there were no other options.

The idiot libs think that gun owners are looking for any excuse to open fire

Giving him a warning gives him a chance to shoot first.

If I miss with the first shot, he's had his warning.

You never know what someone has hidden on their person. Anyone crazy enough to break down a patio door is up to no good.

You think drunk and old+breaking out the patio door = no concealed weapons?

Have you spent much time in Indiana?
