Checked him out on youtube. Great singing. :) Sadly this is the first I’ve heard of him, though I love that type of music.

May he rest in peace.

Clancy was one of the best if not THE best Irish singer ever. His Irish ballads and classic songs were listening Heaven. Few if ever reach that kind of perfection.

I discovered the Clancy Brothers, and the marvelous Tommy Makem, in the 70’s. Liam, the youngest, was always my favorite. Tommy died just a couple of years ago.

RIP Liam, I loved your music. Now the brothers are all together again. Reunion in heaven.

from the above story ...

"Clancy began his singing career in New York along with his brothers Paddy and Tom and the Clancy Brothers earned a 1961 guest spot on the "Ed Sullivan Show."

When I was in High School, I was a big fan of Tommy Makem and the Clancy Brothers. They had Club in the E 30’s in NY and we used to go there to hear them sing.

Hopefully, they are all in Heaven singing their beautiful Irish music. Their open support for the IRA is in many of their songs. The Patriot’s Game is about the IRA.
