Questioning the Regular Yearly Flu Shot
Me | Dec. 5, 2009 | RetSignman

Posted on 12/05/2009 6:18:38 AM PST by RetSignman

I have some serious concerns about the yearly shot that most people get during the flu season. It has been many years since I have had a serious cold or the flu.. This year after I had my shot, I came down with serious flu symptoms and it has been hanging on for more than a week.

My next door neighbor also came down with the flu after she had her yearly shot, she went to her doctor and confirmed she, indeed, had the flu.

I know that that this happens on occasion that the shot can cause the flu but this seems to happening to a lot of my family and family.

I was talking to my son in Texas and he told me last night his wife and children had come down with the flu, they all had been given shots. He was the only one who didn't get his shot and didn't get the flu.

I'm not trying to get conspiratorial here but it seems more than a little strange that this seems to be occurring.

I am posting this to see if any of you have seen this happening within your circle of friends and family.

I don’t get flu shots. I had the flu once in 1997 or 98 and it lasted about 3 days.

Instead I:

Make sure I am getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night.
Wash hands with warm water frequently as well as cooking areas at home.
Cook foods with onion, garlic, ginger, chicken broth and fruits/veggies with a decent vitamin C content.
Drink milk/eat foods with Vitamin D.
Excercise at least 30 minutes outside several times a week weather permitting or inside when cold(my cold threshhold is about 27 degrees), raining or actively snowing.
Practice nasal irrigation (gross but EXTREMELY effective)

I’ve been getting an annual flu shot since 2000, on my cardiologist’ recommendation.

The last 2 years I didn’t even have a sore arm.

Did NOT get the H1N1 though.

That’s okay. It’s up to the individual.

We are a little surprised at a clinic telling all of its patients not to get the flu shot. The doctors there evidently had seen something about it they didn’t like; don’t know what that something is.

When my son-in-law first heard them say, “Don’t,” he thought they meant simply not to get it for their little girl with the NKH—perhaps it might aggrivate that or something. So he asked to clarify.

The doctor said, “No, not for any mmember of the family, or any of his patients.” Something about it spooked the doctors there.

"Do you have a bufy full time job?"

Not at the moment, but some jobs I've had allowed employees a certain number of days that were vacation OR sick days. I guess I would use those days as sick days instead of taking a "vacation" if I had to, wouldn't you?

I am sure some of the politicians have stakes in the drug industry.

I had yearly flu shots for 25 years in the military. I almost always had 3-4 days of aches and pains & low-grade fever. There is a reason we normally got our shots before a 3 day weekend! I didn’t ever get full up flu for 10-14 days.

Haven’t been retired long enough to know if there will be a difference without.

Barack Obama has shares in Baxter

As a Congresscritter, Barak Obama buys stock in the flu vaccine company.

He then introduces a bill to give them $60,000,000.00.

The rest is irrelevant.

I believe this falls within the definition of a high crime.
