Woods, Wife In Intense Marriage Counseling (Tiger's Management Team in 'Panic Mode')
Chicago Sun Times ^ | December 2, 2009 | Bill Zwecker

Posted on 12/02/2009 11:28:01 AM PST by caddystacks

The continuing revelations of alleged Tiger Woods infidelities has placed the golfing megastar's management team in what one insider called "panic mode" early Wednesday morning.

Despite the release of photographs of Woods looking a bit too friendly with a woman in a Las Vegas nightclub, and a recording — allegedly of a phone call Woods made to former "Tool Academy" reality show alum Jaimee Grubbs — the Woods source insists "Tiger still believes stonewalling the press on this is the best approach."

• Also, don't look for Woods' wife, Elin, to be moving out of the couple's Windermere, FL., mansion anytime soon. The links legend's spouse is reportedly being paid a hefty seven-figure amount — immediately transfered into an account she alone controls — to stick with her husband.

On top of that, my source indicated Elin Nordegren Woods, the mother of Tiger's two children, has demanded — and is getting — a total rewrite on the couple's prenuptial agreement making the incentives for her to remain Mrs. Tiger Woods even more enticing.

At this point, the couple needed to remain married for 10 years in order for Woods' wife to collect a splitsville settlement of $20 million. I'm being told that time frame has been shortened — and the dollar amount increased "substantially."

• Perhaps most important of all, the Woodses have already begun intense marriage counseling — at their home — with a counselor who has been conducting sessions several times daily.

Perfect ending to a well laid plan.

...So, she knew he chased women?
That was her angle?

She knew he’d get caught and his empire would collapse, leaving her with a hefty settlement. Was that her plan?

One question then. Why is she upset?
Another one-Why wait until now?
Another one. If her scheme is about money, why not stay married to a billionaire, instead of riding off with a few million? Pennies on the dollar, as H. Ross Perot used to say. Doesn’t sound like a well laid plan to me.

I don’t follow athletes, generally, Jeter is single, but does he have the choirboy image that Tiger had? because it is precisely that incongruity between his image and reality, that is part of what is driving this story. if he had a rep as one who traffics in skanks, i don’t think this would be as big as it is.

No, there is far greater difference than wearing a wedding ring. This said, IMHO, she married him only for his money. He appears rather dumb, except for gold, and his lack of smarts has been spun as "being a private person."

From what has been posted, and assuming it is true, I gather that his parents had no problem with adultery.

She was hoping for this all along. A good laid plan worked.

Maybe Tiger can sue Jasper Parnevik for false advertising

If my aspiration all along was to get a divorce why would I be upset if he’s given me the perfect excuse to get it along with an even bigger cash sum.

I’d be clicking my heels, not chasing after him with a golf club.

From my perch in Texas, Jeter's always seemed to have played things low-key.

Tony Romo "paid his tuition" two years ago when he hooked up with Jessica Simpson. This particular month will be an important one for the entire franchise. I don't think I'm exaggerating that careers and reputations hang in the balance, based on the Cowboys' December performance over the past five years.

It'll sure be easier for Jerry to make his mortgage payment on JerryWorld with a playoff game (or two) at Cowboys Stadium.

He appears rather dumb...

Sorry, Jane...have to disagree with you on that. He may have poor judgment and displayed a lack of common sense, but he did stay eligible at Stanford for two years.

Time for people to stop idolizing those who lack morality, virtue, character, etc. Why would any advertising company even give it a second thought to retain him as spokesman for their product. I for one, will not have anything to do with products that continue to be endorsed by Tiger Woods. This isn't about one slip, one indiscretion, it was multiple, and all during the time that his wife was pregnant with his two children. How cold and callus can a human being be? I guess he figured that he could just throw money at his children and that will earn him the title of "Dad." Family man? Squeaky clean imagine? Jokes on us.

Sounds to me that MANY of the advertising contracts he has have “morality clauses”.

He should have thought of that. And the women he chose were such skanks.

Teddy got his trumped up annullment but nephew Joseph Kennedy didn’t get his- his wife Sheila (who is episcopalian- hell hath no fury...) refused to let their twin sons be bastardized, and went after the Church and challenged it- she won. Wrote a book about it, too.
“Shattered Faith: A Woman’s Struggle to Stop the Catholic Church from Annulling Her Marriage”

No word on where Joe II and his former staffer/2d partner/”wife” Beth Kelly and 2d brood of kids now attend church.

You were saying ...

Here’s a quarter. Call somebody who cares.

BUT..., but..., I have it on "very good authority" that FReepers have an insatiable appetite for salacious gossip and incessant rumor-mongering...

There are only two topics that come ahead of salacious gossip and rumor-mongering, here on Free Republic, and that's "Anthropogenic Global Warming" and "Obamacare"... :-)

"panic mode"? these people need to grow up .... Aaaack! Our cushy jobs are on the line!

I don't know if my estimation of Tiger has gone up because he's as human as me or gone down because he has a mgt team trying to make things look good for the public. .... and why wasn't he driving a Buick Rendezvous?

How much is enough? 40-50 million...

Woods passed the $1 Billion, that's with a "B", last year in lifetime earnings on the Tour.

Add endorsements and you got some serious scratch for whatever is itching.

And a tidy sum to point some bird dog lawyers at and say, "Sic 'em!"
