An image of an obese passenger squeezed into an economy airline seat has reopened a debate about how airlines deal with growing numbers of oversized passengers.
The picture, posted on an aviation blog, was reportedly taken by a flight attendant to illustrate to airline managers the difficulty of dealing with passengers who cannot fit into seats.

What the heck are you talking about? You don't anything about this man. Go eat some organic tranquilizers!
I noticed that too. Unless he’s sitting on something, that guy has to be well over 6 feet tall.
bttt
Me too. I think if you pay for a 2nd you get it no matter WHO wants to use it for standby. I imagine if they wanted you to buy a 2nd seat you’d be forced to so if you do it voluntarily why the difference?
Here’s the full size photo:

Interesting how you see, again, that there seems to be a disappearing armrest. That doesn’t change no matter where you move El Blobbo. And with the larger pic, the blurs of Photoslop appear a little more obvious.
FAKEY FAKE-FAKELSTEIN.
I am sure that he knows that he is overweight. It is his right to eat, drink or diet himself to death if he chooses. It is his life.
He isn't the one complaining. We are the ones that are complaining.
There are many times, I am sure, where he hasn't been accommodated and I am sure that he knows why.
Cut him some slack.
p.s. No, I am NOT overweight!

Compassion, my ass. What in Gods name is compassioniate about charging me the same rate as someone who weighs twice what I do, whose luggage weighs twice as much as mine does (because their clothing is twice the size!)? Who then rewards me by spilling over into my seat on a LV to Cleveland flight?
I cant get comfortable in my seat, as Im only able to utilize 2/3 of the seat I paid for; Ive donated the other 1/3, evidently. Also, I cant even try to sleep. Because invariably, these supersized passengers SNORE... and snore loudly. Dont ask me why.
So I get to be crinkled up in my seat, forced into being awake.........for 2500 miles. And I paid full price for the seat.
Whats the definition of compassion around here, anyway?
“FAA needs to get involved if the airlines won’t.”
And you call yourself a conservative?
This looks like a small problem, which you want government to get involved with.
Why limit it to airlines? Why not buses, all government buildings, hospitals, etc.
And why just big people?
Why not government mandated seats for small people?
We can have a cabinet level position for seating fairness.
But why limit it to just seating? How about standing, lying down?
Government mandated bed sizes? And firmness, of course>
Government specializes in big intrusive costly solutions, for small and/or private problems.
Comprende?
