“FAA needs to get involved if the airlines won’t.”
And you call yourself a conservative?
This looks like a small problem, which you want government to get involved with.
Why limit it to airlines? Why not buses, all government buildings, hospitals, etc.
And why just big people?
Why not government mandated seats for small people?
We can have a cabinet level position for seating fairness.
But why limit it to just seating? How about standing, lying down?
Government mandated bed sizes? And firmness, of course>
Government specializes in big intrusive costly solutions, for small and/or private problems.
Comprende?
The FAA is tasked with ensuring safe travel. That is their job. A huge guy as pictured in this thread, seated as he is, is a GIANT safety hazard for fellow passengers as well as himself.
My job at the airline was to collect, report and analyze accidents and injuries. The majority of our injuries involved flight attendants onboard the aircraft.... with a large number of them directly involving overweight passengers.
The last one I saw go through involved a morbidly obsese women who couldn't sit in the normal seats... so she plopped herself in the aisle. The Flight Attendant was seriously injured in the process of getting that whale off the floor. It was indeed her and the airlines fault for not handling it properly. And since they are not dealing with, the FAA must step in.
Again, I repeat, the FAA is required to enforce safe flying conditions... and clearly they are not dealing with this issue. The rest of your comments are just silly talk unrelated to this at all.
I'm sure you won't like this but... I know FAR more about airline safety issues then you do. And this is indeed a big problem.
Comprende, oh rude one?
