So Freepers don't like RINOs. I get it. But who's NOT a RINO? [vanity]

One thing the internet amplifies is negative feedback. The impersonal nature of the media makes it easy. Consequently, you see much more negative feedback than positive. In many cases, posting a negative doesn’t include an absolute refusal to support a candidate. To put in terms a liberal (used to be confined to liberals, now infects almost all it seems) would understand: to disagree or criticize does not make one a “hater”.....

Why do Palinistas believe they elevate Palin’s stature by comparing her to Obama?

It's not elevation: it's preempting your next canard, which is "she doesn't have enough experience to get elected."

What’s dumb is your own response to my well-reasoned post. It’s a personal attack and not an argument. I would not rule Sarah out for the top job—but she’s not the best potential candidate for the GOP, given her huge negatives in polls. That should at least give us pause instead of plunging forward. For one thing her appeal would be limited in the blue states. Which would mean the election in 2012 would be another squeaker. She’s prettier than Rudy but not the better candidate.

Of course the Communists/Socialists are going to hate her.

Who cares?

You think they'll vote for McKeating?

Yes, I am listening to Rush right now. I’m not a 3rd party person at all, just commenting on all of our inability to reach a concensus.

Same to you. GTH!

I take that as an honor when it comes from yet another micro-freeper that thinks he's "more nuanced than thou" and the rest of us "don't get it."

“To me, a RINO is someone I would never seriously consider voting for in a Republican Primary — someone with an ideological flaw that is a dealbreaker for me. McCain qualifies. Mitt and Huck qualify. Olympia Snowe. Lindsey Graham. There are plenty of others.”

Look, maybe you’re blessed to be living in a red state. Olympia Snowe from Maine I get. Lindsey Graham - from SOUTH CAROLINA???? Are you kidding me?? Is that the best you guys can do???

I live in New York, so if I had a chance support Graham against Gillibrand or Schumer I would gladly do so; but if I lived in South Carolina I would do everything I could to get rid of him.

Ditto Dede Scozzafava - I would do anything possible to help her take down Carolyn Maloney in NY14 (where I live during the week); but in NY20 (weekend home) or NY23? We can do so much better than that!

It takes more than just being right on the issues to lead a nation. To turn this country around after four years of Obama will take first-class executive capabilities. Neither DeMint nor Coburn shows such skills.

Oh my, don't start talking effective political strategy,

That alleged effectiveness is FAR from proven.

McCain was hated here long before he went down in flames last year.

I would support Palin or DeMint for president. I wish Inhofe would jump into the race.

Sure the socialists hate her. But some non-socialists don’t seem crazy about her either. Her negatives are in the high 40s—almost half the country. You can’t put your head in the sand and ignore this. It would actually be pretty dangerous for us if she ran, considering the stakes for the country if we fail—another four years of Obama. Better a strong conservative with high positives and low negatives. That’s just common sense— Politics 101. I’d like her for v.p.—where she can pick up the necessary experience and take over in eight years. She’s certainly young enough to take that route.

The political right of center seems to be made up of Conservatives, Moderates, Pragmatists and then the very vocal minority -- the Litmus Test crowd -- that demands that a politician agree exactly with them on every imaginable issue. If they fail even one test, then that politician is lumped in with the enemy side. And inevitably, every politician is going to fail at least one test.

Personally, I just tend to ignore the litmus test people. They make lots of noise, but they have little effect.

If it's any consolation, the left of center side is a mirror image.
