Why Does Every Thread (apparently) Start with an ant-Romney Ad? (a vanity post, but sincere)
clique | clique

Posted on 12/01/2009 8:38:13 AM PST by Clique

Let me be clear: I don't like Romney. I wouldn't vote for Romney. I hope he never runs for President, and if he tries, I hope he never gets the nomination. In other words -- I don't like Romney!

However, -- I am tired of having to scroll past an anti-Romney ad as the #1 entry on every article lately.

Why does every post start with an anti-Romney ad? As far as I know, he isn't even running for anything right now.

In fact, why should every article begin with an anti-Anyone ad?

I've always considered most Freepers to be very objective and fair-minded.

Has FreeRepublic turned into a one-trick pony? (DestroyRomneyDestroyRomneyDestroyRomney...etc.)

It has become quite tiresome. Could someone please tell me why FreeRepublic is doing this?

Jim Robinson, are you aware that this is happening?

Thank you.

I disagree. It is sophomoric.

“There is an obvious undercurrent suggesting that the High Poobahs want Romney for the next candidate. We want them to know that they need to be looking for a real Republican to run.”

I believe you are correct. Seemingly the RINO Mr. Romney’s tactic is to provide funding to the RNC for their favor in his future political endeavors.

If in fact that is what he is doing, then he is voiding our actions as individual Conservatives in not contributing to the RNC until they recognize their traditional Conservative base once again.

This action by The RINO Mr.Romney, and the RINO management of the RNC almost guarantees Conservatives must dance their dance in an alternative, thus a third Party which is precisely what the Left wants. A third party being the doorway to oblivion for true Conservatives.

The RINO management of the RNC have taken the Party to the Left under the guise of a “BIG TENT” theme which literally destroys the purpose of opposition, which is debate.

Without debate we have only one Political Party, and that is precisely what the Left wants.

We can’t allow that to happen, therefore all efforts to expose RINO’s for the enemy within that they are must be made no matter who has to scroll a little more to get where they want to go at FR.

Anyway, that’s my opinion. Thanks for the segue for my rant. I appreciate it.

No, you are avoiding public expression of your support for The Huckster. Come on, just say it: “The Huckster is the second coming!”

I support candidates based on their record and not because of their faith, color, gender, or impressive head of hair.

It’s nice that way too, since I don’t have to twist myself into knots trying to support liberal policy with a fake, conservative veneer on it.

You should try it sometime.

Nonsense. Is everybody supposed to be in complete lock step on this site? If so that would be pretty boring. Jim “runs” the website. It is not “his” website. If it were he would pay for everything himself and not ask for donations.

LOL. So, you don’t deny it. “The Huckster is the salvation of the GOP.”

“The $300,000 in frivolous ethics lawsuits filed against Palin was enough to make her “quit” the governorship.”

So what is going to happen if she is elected president, or even runs for that matter.... will she weather the storm then?

Well thought out and expressed.

Me, I despise him for that smarmy Mr. Perfect haircut.

I get the message — BUT I’M SICK OF GETTING THE MESSAGE!

When I use my Blackberry, as I often do, the Romney message takes ages to scroll thru.

Enough already!!

Because it’s Jim Robinson’s website and he can do what he wants.

If you don’t like that, may I suggest the ‘scroll’ button on your mouse?

Stopping Romney is the bigger issue, and Jim Rob has correctly realized this.

I’m not calling Romney a baby killer. I know that to get elected in Mass. you have to show some “moderation”. But come on, is there any doubt he would be the same or even less conservative if he became POTUS?

This silly anti-Romney campaign is having zero positive impact on anything.

I think it is actually helping Romney. Most people like to think for themselves. Trying to jam an anti Romney message down people's throats just gets people mad. The Palinistas are just as bad and they are hurting her cause.

Personally, I am almost dead set against Palin, not because of her, but because of the strident yelling of her supporters.

This anti Romney crusade has pretty much persuaded me to contribute to Fiorina just because I'm mad.

She’s the one who should be answering that question, but the crazy ethics laws on the books in Alaska aren’t federal laws, nor is there anything similar at the federal level, so a situation where she’s facing personal bankruptcy at the hands of troublemakers is highly unlikely with her in the oval office.

It’s pure conjecture on my part, but I firmly believe that between the enemies she made in the Alaska Republican Party, along with the Democrats’ partisan hatred, they would have had the votes to impeach her for something just to destroy her for 2012 before her term was up.

Your question is a fair one, but one that only Sarah is qualified to answer. How she deals with it will go a long way to show her viability as a candidate.

I think Romney is done in terms of politics. I haven’t seen hide or hair from Romneybots since March 2008.

And how many McCain supporters did you see before he wrapped up the nomination ? Had the world economy not blown up, I think he would have won too.

“I really don’t think there are many who support here unconditionally here at FR.”

The self inflicted blindness of Palinistas is truly breathtaking to behold. And that’s what’s scary.

Can the purge begin yet???

When the purge starts, I'll be in for 2400 for Romney and another 2400 for Fiorina.

I haven’t discussed it. I was talking about Romney. A quick scan of your posts shows me that you’re discussing something else entirely. I don’t really care if you wander off and discuss your unrelated obsession, but I have no obligation to follow.

Romney is a Mormon.

Glen Beck is a Mormon. Is there a point?
