Shallie has indeed made a great comeback!
She gets her can of tuna each day and she seems to be thriving now. I cannot believe how close we were to putting her down!!!!! Makes me shutter to think of it.

For Polly and all cat lovers

When God Made Cats

When God made the world, He chose to put animals in it,
and decided to give each whatever it wanted.
All the animals formed a long line before His throne,
and the cat quietly went to the end of the line.

To the elephant and the bear He gave strength,
to the rabbit and the deer, swiftness;
to the owl, the ability to see at night,
to the birds and the butterflies, great beauty;
to the fox, cunning;
to the monkey, intelligence;
to the dog, loyalty;
to the lion, courage;
to the otter, playfulness.

And all these were things the animals begged of God.

At last he came to the end of the line,
and there sat the little cat, waiting patiently.

“What will YOU have?” God asked the cat.

The cat shrugged modestly. “Oh, whatever scraps you have left over. I don't mind.”

“But I'm God. I have everything left over.”

“Then I'll have a little of everything, please.”

And God gave a great shout of laughter at the cleverness of this small animal,
and gave the cat everything she asked for, adding grace and elegance
and, only for her, a gentle purr that would always attract humans
and assure her a warm and comfortable home.

But he took away her false modesty.

Thanks, all, for your sympathy for my little guy, Chachi.

Yorkie, our vet has told us the same thing, "absolutely nothing other than the Hill's prescription z/d diet and the hypoallergenic treats (that we get from our vet's office)....not even chew-sticks". I think what may have happened is, when I asked my husband to feed the dogs, he accidentally set down Sissy's food first and Chach managed to get a bite of Sissy's dinner before he could get him away from it. Jk feels really bad that he may have caused Chachi's colitis flare up. Even though the vet has warned us, we had no idea that it was so critical that Chachi get nothing, not even one bite of forbidden food.

Anyway, Chachi is doing great now and we are hoping that he eventually will be able to do without some of this medication doctor has him on. One of the pills is very low doses of Prednisone.

Thanks again, friends. Happy FRiday.....Have a wonderful day!

I’m going to quit complaining about our cold!! Your weather sounds absolutley miserable.

We have 37 degrees with no wind; just wet fog.

You and the pups try to stay warm.

Lori, I feed my furry kid Royal Canin High Fiber that comes in a can, twice a day. Then for ‘treats’ she gets the same thing, only in dry form - small pellets. She thinks it is dropped from heaven (until she smells bacon.)

I know how your husband must feel, but it happens to all of us, who have dogs on restrictive diets. I made corned beef not too long ago, and dropped a piece of the meat, as I was transferring it to the platter. She dove on it like a cat on a mouse, and I just knew she was going to get sick - but thankfully, she didn’t.

I’m glad Chachi is doing so well, now!

Good morning, Mayor. Stay safe on the road.

Are you visiting family in Tennessee? Bet it will be a little warmer there.

Have a great weekend.

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Here on the high desert of AZ (where everyone thinks it is always hot and dry), the temperature dropped to 21 last night, and now it is a ‘warm’ 27, with 14 mph winds.

Tomorrow I am going to get a new tree with lights already on it. I have struggled with strings of lights for years, and this year I am going to treat myself. Take the tree out of the box - insert the top half into the lower half, plug in and VOILA! A tree ready for the antique ornaments and sprigs of holly.
