Cops are stepping up an investigation into whether an act of domestic violence occurred in Tigers lair.
The Florida Highway Patrol stopped by the hospital where Woods was treated after his Friday morning accident, reports TMZ.com. Witnesses tell the Web site that the troopers were looking for information tied to golfing great's visit.
Earlier Monday, TMZ reported that the FHP was pursuing a search warrant that would allow them access to Woods' medical records, although a police spokesperson says no formal request has been made.
The search warrant talk comes after Woods and wife Elin Nordegren cancelled an interview with police officers for a third time.
Sources told TMZ authorities think they can show probable cause of a crime having been committed, a requirement in obtaining a warrant. Among the potential scenarios the police are looking into is an inconsistency in Nordegrens story to police. According to reports, she told troopers she used a golf cart to look for Woods when she came upon the accident, but did not mention the golf cart when she first spoke to police after her husband's accident. The 29-year-old former model could be facing a potential domestic violence charge.
Woods also told a friend that he was taking prescription medication for pain, TMZ previously reported, which could be consistent with a DUI

Tiger: I Need a ‘Kobe Special’
Posted Nov 29th 2009 1:30PM by Staff
Tiger Woods had a “Kobe Special” on his brain hours after what looks like a domestic dispute with his wife, Elin Nordegren — this according to someone who spoke with Tiger on Friday.
During the phone conversation on Friday, Tiger told his friend, “I have to run to Zales to get a ‘Kobe Special.’” The person on the other end of the phone asked Tiger what a “Kobe Special” was. The reply — “A house on a finger.”
During the conversation, Tiger said his wife had “gone ghetto” on him.
As we first reported, Tiger told the friend his wife had scratched his face up during an argument over a report that the golf great had cheated on her. The “other woman” named in the story — Rachel Uchitel — calls the report “bull”
Of course, the Kobe reference is the now-famous house/ring he gave his wife Vanessa after the whole Colorado thing. We’re assuming Tiger was joking, though he can certainly afford it

Given Florida’s budget woes and Tigers potential legal budget, the FHP has to be extra careful.
For what purpose?
There is no complaint filed by anyone.. so what are they fishing for?
Who cares? The Obama Administration is attempting to destroy our country and the MSM chooses to act like peeping toms over a celebrity’s marriage. It’s none of our business.
Tiger’s blood tests during the hospital stay for DUI, my guess.
The State can file domestic abuse charges, without there being any complaint by the battered partner.
Doesn’t happen often. Depends if the District Attorney thinks it will pass the Grand Jury.
One thing we don’t know at this time. Just how serious are Tiger’s injuries? That’s probably what the police are trying to understand - thus the hospital records request.
That his wife may have committed assault adds interest to the LEOs.
If as he claims he was on pain killers, then he has been on them since June of 08.
This is the beginning of the Tiger Woods celebrity freak show.
100 year old men play golf.
His injuries must be extensive to not play in a BS little celebrity tourney.
And with the police always looking for a charge to put on someone (Hey! It's their job... LOL...), the best advice that you or I or anyone can get is to never ever talk to the police under any circumstances, anywhere at anytime...
Talking to the Police by Professor James Duane
Professor James Duanes now famous 5th Amendment lecture - popularly known as Dont talk to the police! - has amassed a considerable internet following. The lecture, given as part of Regent Law Schools spring preview weekend.
“His injuries must be extensive to not play in a BS little celebrity tourney.”
He is just avoiding the press. Last year when he was on crutches, I think he went to the tourney and acted as host, since it’s his charity tourney.

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.
This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.
This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.
Injuries from car crash to prevent his participation
11/30/2009
Due to injuries sustained in a one-car accident last week, Tiger Woods will be unable to play in the 2009 Chevron World Challenge.
"I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week," Woods said. "I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I'm very sorry that I can't be there."
"We support Tiger's decision and are confident the strong field and excellent course will provide an exciting week of competition at the Chevron World Challenge, said Greg McLaughlin, Tiger Woods Foundation President & CEO
Woods will not participate in any other tournaments in 2009 and will return to action next year.
You better be ready for the scrutiny. Be careful and wary when you become famous...or become infamous.

Most days I’m very satisfied to be a “nobody.” I wouldn’t change places with Bill Gates, in spite of his money. I wouldn’t want to go through life with a target on my back....

I guess I’m kind of a stickler for details, but aren’t private citizens’ hospital records PRIVATE?
I totally agree with your point, but if Tiger was operating a motor vehicle during the accident the Patrol will get his blood tests.
Not if the subject was operating the vehicle under the supposed influence of pain pills (as was related later by a friend to gossip reporters)
