That is what I was trying to convey. Even if he was crazy, which I do not believe. It doesn’t make him less right. I am starting to sense that there are people from the left coming on this website, using the tactic of making a childish critism of the person and not the substance.

You can still be a mustang and go to the US Naval Academy. I personally was in this position myself. I completed 4 years of active duty, and I sent both an ROTC application and an Academy application. They were both accepted, but I choose to go to a ROTC unit. As far as the article goes itself, I see nothing about his career, other than the rank he retired at. If I continue my career I would retire as an O-4 or O-5 with twenty years. If I wasn’t an O-5 already, I would be up for selection. However, to get paid O-5 when I retire I have to be an O-5 for a minimum of three years. A lot of officers who have no intention of doing that, will ask that they are not selected, so that others who are willing to go past their 20 years will have a chance.

I don’t believe this filing constitutes a criminal charge. A filing of a document as “R” as in 09 R 81 I think is just a recorded filing. Anyone can file any document in this fashion. A criminal file usually is filed in a 09 CR XXXX format.

Is Barry a Muslim? Hmmm. Let's see...

Con: Never seen any record of him worshipping at a mosque since coming of age, or participating in Islamic events, or carrying around a Koran or a prayer rug. Never seen him doing anything particularly Islamic at all. He says he's not. Didn't give his kids Islamic names.

What kind of names have the daughters???

Maybe this here below is the issue in disguise, and maybe it's time for you to retire!!!

Why say anything negative about the guy? Here's what the article continued:
In a review of the trial, the office of the judge advocate general of the Navy on Jan. 14, 1993, downgraded the solitary conviction to that of simple negligence. Today, the former Navy officer who prosecuted the court-martial says the case brought against Fitzpatrick had little to support it. In an affidavit he provided to Fitzpatrick, former Lt. Matthew Bogoshian said that ``the majority of charges . . . brought against Lt. Cmdr. Fitzpatrick seemed to have little or no basis in reality, i.e. there was an absence of much if any evidence to support them."

Always have been, but today some of them are well-paid and well-trained.

CMC;

Did you see post #73? Kinda sheds some light on the LtCdr...

I get your other points- I was routinely snubbed as a “mustang”, especially by the ring knockers from West Point; even though I and guys like me often had more experience, greater education and yes, even better grasp of the situation. All branches are in the same “boat” when it comes to the prima dona academy types and some specialties. Not all of them were thus, but....

Regards;

Thanks for the "Heads Up", because I had moved on to other topics.

What's described there didn't happen often, but once is one time too many. If what they are saying is correct, they did what the Obama administration routinely does to everyone who crosses them....they bring down the full power of the Federal Government on them. Needless to say, with their unlimited budget for lawyers a private citizen doesn't have a chance.

I wish him well, and yourself too. Thanks for your service.
