Tiger's Wife Changed Her Story
tmz.com ^ | Nov. 28, 2009 | TMZ Staff

Posted on 11/28/2009 11:56:46 AM PST by Free ThinkerNY

Tiger Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, changed the story she told the first officer on the scene, according to law enforcement sources.

The Windemere Police Department says Tiger's wife went outside, saw that her husband had struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and then went back inside the house for a golf club to use to try and extricate him from the vehicle. But we've learned Nordegren told a very different story to the Florida Highway Patrol, and it does not involve going back in the house for a club. Our sources will not allow us to be more specific.

And we've learned there was no blood found on the steering wheel of Tiger's SUV -- putting into serious doubt that Tiger sustained his injuries from the crash.

As we first reported, Tiger had a conversation with a friend yesterday, in which he said his wife had confronted him over reports he was involved with another woman ... and that his wife scratched his face up during the argument. Tiger told the friend he then left the house, started driving off and his wife then came out with a golf club, striking the vehicle. Tiger then became distracted and hit the hydrant and then a nearby tree.

We're told cops will interview Tiger and his wife later today.

UPDATE: A neighbor tells TMZ they saw cops show up at Tiger's house this morning -- only to get turned away again. Tiger's wife, Elin, was spotted (below) driving out of the Isleworth subdivision in Windermere earlier today.

One of those posts claimed that when asked how many times she hit him with the club, she was so upset that she said she “couldn’t remember exactly how many times she hit him, she wasn’t keeping count, what?...four? five? six?... Oh, put me down for a four.”

wow...that’s unbelievable yo uwould say that, Grandma...it’s ok to beat up someone cause they cheated on you? Is it ok to kill someone because they stole from you? How about stabing someone because they lied to you? Tell me where you draw the line.

Real women don’t commit violent felonies.

And why the back window? Why not the back seat window which is closer? And she dragged him out, with no blood in the car, and shut the door behind her? Nope...makes no sense.

Depends on where she hit him...

..I was accidentally hit with a 9iron when I was ten.....

..after two plastic surgeries I was presentable again, but still have a scar on my chin.

Yes, that is the law in FL. If the police suspect that there's a violent altercation between two people in a domestic relationship, they are required by law to make an arrest.

Anyone here see her going in jail? Nada. She gets counseling & all is forgotten. What's wrong here is if it's true with the other women Tiger made a quadruple bogie with that ugly other women. 20 million plus women after him & he gets it off with that thing. That shows to me counseling for him is needed.

I think he was stoned out of his mind on scrips, otherwise he would been able to handle the challenge like a man.
He got out of a DWI because he is the elite.

Don't exaggerate what I said. You know what, in certain circumstances, it may be ok to beat up someone cheating on you and it may also be ok to kill someone stealing from you.

Stabbing because they lied to you--absolutely not.

We do have the right to self defense.

The Violent Femmes are "men". Men much like Obama, but men nonetheless.

But the fact of the matter is, real men do cheat, and so do real women. Real men also commit violent felonies, and so do real women, as evidenced by Wood's spouse.

Simple questions.

How much time will Woods do for cheating on his wife?

How much time will Eln do for attempting to brain her husband and coming pretty damn close to succeeding?

Bottom line is genitalia does not determine one's morality, nor does it determine one's disposition towards violence or non-violence.

Former friend of mine beat his wife, putting her in the hospital... yeah she cheated... but I don’t think beating someone is sane or helpful. Do what most folks do, take all their stuff.

"Bottom line is genitalia does not determine one's morality, nor does it determine one's disposition towards violence or non-violence. "

That is not accurate. Studies indicate that women are far more likely to assault their husbands then vice versa. However, when men do assault they do more damage... that combined with the double standard... is why you hear far more about men beating women.

"However, when men do assault they do more damage"

Try telling that to John Bobbit...

There is most definitely a double standard.

I expect that if Eln had golf club prints on her face, Mr. Woods would be behind bars right now.

The fact that she was the aggressor and remains out of jail considering Florida's domestic violence law is absolute bullsh!t.

No fault divorce is a travesty. Marriage should be treated like any other contract. He who breaks it, pays.

Best comment on this thread.

Again, which is the greater crime?

Our legal system takes human nature partially into account. A crime of passion is usually after someone finds their spouse en flagrante.

The court has some understanding when a married woman with two babies at home finds her husband has been lying to her and sleeping with another woman. (It should for a man in such a situation, too, but it would have to be some kind of house-husband married to a famous woman.)

"Anyone here see her going in jail? Nada. She gets counseling & all is forgotten."

I'm not a FL attorney, but I have practiced in the state as a JAG, so I'm a little familiar with FL law.

If the circumstances end up resembling what many suspect today, I think there's at least some likelihood of her doing at least a little time. He clearly was transported to the hospital, was in an out of consciousness and may have received some stitches. That, along with the possible assault with a deadly weapon (the golf club), means the prosecutor will be hard pressed not to ask (and get) at least some minimal jail time (3-30) days. Perhaps the sentence is suspended, perhaps not. It's really entirely up to the judge at that point.

If this were a "normal" DV case, someone would be going to jail for at least 3-6 months, given the circumstances. So yes, she'll probably get some preferential treatment.
