Remarkable collection of photos.
I had a great grandfather who was incarcerated by the South during the war for being a conscientious objector, Reverend George Sims. While there he made little oak boxes with sliding lids from the legs of chairs. I guess they let him have a knife for whittling.
The box I have is very cool.
