"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert's vocals weren't top-notch at last night's American Music Awards, but nobody really noticed. How could they, given his over-the-top and in-your-face sexual choreography. Lambert's act during the show, aired on ABC, featured male dancers on leashes, an open-mouth kiss between Lambert and his male keyboardist, and simulated oral sex, both male-on-male and female-on-male.
Naturally, boundary-pushing Hollywood hailed Lambert's performance.
"As a TV viewer, I thought Lambert's performance was a gas, a delight, a blast of brash vulgarity in the midst of ordinary vulgarity," wrote Entertainment Weekly's Ken Tucker.

The huge tsunami of sexual content has been slowly washing ashore in this country. Where and how will it end? Rome? It has overtaken our children not only in the media but also in schools and teaching materials. I see it getting much worse before it gets better.
I hope they ban him...
That was my first thought, Cedar.
I wasn't terribly impressed with him on the singing contest show ... and that puke he did last night was of negative value.
Hey.....how did I write this without writing this? Well said!
You’re right...Every friggin’ TV program seems to have a fag.

Do you get paid by the word?
Internet flunkies don’t make much money nowadays, but —what the hell— it’s a job.
Maybe Adam will turn into a pillar of salt and give us all a break!
I missed Adam Lambert’s deep throating, but I did Tivo the event so I’ll go back and see it.
I watched last night, and most of the vulgar sexuality was particularly unimaginative. Shekina just gyrated and thrusted her pelvis forward and back along with about 60 other dancers doing the same thing. Her song had one line but she sang it over and over again. A pan shot of the audience showed that most of them were bored.
Bored is the natural response to very dull riske nonsense. If everyone’s skanking out, then it’s not new and it’s not cutting edge.
There was this performer named “Lady GaGa” who was pretty vulgar and trashy but she had a dozen-fold more creativity than Shakira. Lady GaGa, during parts of her routine, played the piano. She would pause in playing the piano to break a bottle over the keyboard and continue playing.
It was boring again.
Boredom, boredom, boredom - that’s all it entailed. I get it with the “pushing the envelope” and I understand that you could say pop music has always lacked originality but this was mindnumbingly boring.
I don’t personally believe it could have brought much in as far as TV ratings go. There’s so much more to watch.
Throughout the number, the guys were either gazing at or reaching out for her crotch, and she grabbed it once or twice herself.
Hope no one is eating dinner while looking at this. It is a real Barf Moment.
It was disgusting, the most abhorrent thing I’ve ever seen on TV.
Ed
He’s a weirdo.
It was a degenerate homosexual foisting his dispicable degeneracy upon the people watching it. S & M gay kisses, just outright disgusting behavior. I am still sick after seeing it last night.
OH my Lord help me.
Thank You Lord for giving me the nudge to turn on PBS. My girls heard Janet Jackson and ran downstairs. The older one wanted me to leave it on. Jackson was bad enough.
Thanks for posting the picture, it does say 1000 words.
I’ve noticed over the years that the more money some people have, the worse they dress.
She is so beautiful, why get all tarted up like that? Just because she can? Jeans and a shirt and some western boots would have been way more appropriate and natural.
The creepy leering men are a nice touch,,,not!!!
Man am I glad I didn’t watch that show!
I wonder if they gave a slew of awards to the late, weird, Michael Jackson?
I’m really upset about Carrie.
It’s like she has sold her soul to the devil.
Yes they did! The Corpse got all the highest awards.
How sick is that? Corpse worship!
