Could be a little “prison justice”, or it could have been a totally unrelated beef. I’m thinking the former, though. Especially since the guy who carried out the killing was someone who’s had nothing to lose.

Mr. Lust, the executioner of Ronald Ferguson, is a convicted killer who fatally shot his ex-wife and ex-fiancee 16 years ago on the same day. Mr. Lust should never walk free.
Ferguson was convicted of sex assault on a child. He was supposed to get out by November 2012.
The victim was identified as Ronald Ferguson, 50, who was a habitual offender serving time for a sexual assault on a child conviction.
cause of death was reported by Fremont County Coroner Dr. Dorothy Twellman to be a head injury with bleeding to the brain.
Twellman said the weapon was a dumbbell. Ferguson suffered several blows to the head.
