I get that, but it seems that most of the comments on sites like the one linked here are critical of things like his glasses, band, hair, or the fact he actually eats the food on camera (oh the horror!).
That seems like most of the complaints are on a level that is based upon smugness or the fact that he is appealing to the common person as opposed to the executive chef at La Poop restauraunt in NYC.
Could it be that some people just don’t like him?
I’ve had my share of expensive disappointing “gourmet” meals over the years. I too prefer “real” food.
