That reminds me of a favorite sandwich of a friend of mine when we were kids:

Replace the bacon with a slice of fried “baloney”, and top it with another slice of bread slathered with mayo or Miracle Whip.

I took a bite once. It’s an acquired taste fer shur!

A *lot* of people like peanut butter with mayo. A lot of fried bologna is made here in central virginia, too, I can tell you.

Both of those are OK but I'm more of a purist. I like it best just plain with raspberry preserves. Unimaginative and DELICIOUS!
