Don’t know about Apple, but AT&T has misleading, cheating and abuse built into their business plan.

Another reason the iPhone relationship with AT&T is skating on thin ice, and getting too close to the island of misfit toys... I have an iPhone, and yes, I am a bit annoyed with several shortcomings... waiting for open enrollment with other cellular providers...

FYI, you actually CAN send MMS pictures from the iPhone, but not in a direct way, you must send them to another’s cell phone number by using a code involving the recipients cell number, and the carriers email servers.

Alltel = xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com
AT&T = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.att.net
Boost Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@myboostmobile.com
Cingular (AT&T) = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.mycingular.com
Einstein PCS = xxxxxxxxxx@einsteinmms.com
Sprint = xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@tmomail.net
US Cellular = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.uscc.net
Verizon Wireless = xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com
Virgin Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@vmobl.com

It works, but you have to know in advance whose service your recipients cell phone has, otherwise, it’s a no go...
(the xxxxxxxxxx is the cellphone number of the person you are trying to send the MMS pic to)

I believe the complaint is that AT&T claimed MMS functionality before it was actually available in June, 2009.

I’m so excited. I purchased a new MacBook Pro 17” to be delivered on Sat. It’s about time since my current PowerBook G4 is 9 years old-LOL! 9 years and I’ve never had a problem that a soft shut down did not solve. That’s pretty amazing when you think about it.

I shopped around and got what I think is a very good deal at the Apple Store online refurbished section - $400-$500 less than other places I checked.

Any hints or tips on using the new machine? I know I’m going to love it!

Lets see... the “capability” has always been there, but the implementation took time. I listened to iPhone ads, read them, and talked to AT&T folk s about the iPhone for a LONG time before I bought mine (as in over a year). NEVER did I hear or read that it included MM Messaging. In fact, I know of folks who specifically held off on buying an iPhone because of this.

Further, the service is now included - for all phones if the users have updated the software.

so what is the holdup? Just looking for excuses?
