Newsweek ^ | 11-15-09

Newsweek intentionally left out Obama from the list (that he would save the world.) And no surprise, 3 of the 10 are Republicans (or maybe more.)

How about last March when multiple eneMedia outlets claimed to see “Green Shoots” of economic recovery.

It’s now eight months later and I haven’t seen these “Green Shoots” they promised. I’d like them now, please.

Where’s “with the stimulus bill, unemployment will never top 8%”?

Must be just a coincidence that they missed this one:

‘these two entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not facing any kind of financial crisis.’

5 billion jobs have been “saved”. When E.F. Hutton talks people listen.

In three more years I’ll tell you all about you tube, my space, twitter, and facebook. Except by then some of them may no longer exist.

Besides which, how many people have ever logged onto Youtube using a tube?

#9 A Particle Accelerator Could End the World

Since they haven't gotten the thing to work yet, how do they know this is a bad prediction?

Could be entirely accurate.

Yesterday the front cover of Newsweek in the store had Al Gore’s picture, and the title was “A Thinking Man for the Thinking Man”.

So Newsweek is probably stupider than Al Gore is.

iPod and iPhone - Sir Alan did not figure that there was a whole group of people that would buy a new one everytime Steve Jobs and Apple introduced a new model even if they did it one a week.

I call 'em iDiots.

When I was in high school I bought a calculator for $150. Best money I ever spent.

Not for the calculator, but the good lesson that if you buy your tech early, you’ll pay a lot more for it. I did buy a VCR for $400 though. However my dad bought a Beta for 1700.

I remember when the moon landings happened, everyone came to our house to watch it in color. And they were in BLACK and WHITE. I can’t tell you how cheated we all felt.

Actually, IMHO, the best predictions were made by good businessmen. They sense the need for a product and fill it while on the cutting edge. Not only do they make the predictions, but rather than just spout, they put capital where their mouths are.
