Hardly a victim of the border guards. They put it out of its misery. It would have been my call, unhappy as I might have been to have to do it. I probably would feel worse to let the thing suffer on in that condition and have a bear or pack of wolves go after it with a lot less mercy than a bullet.

I know that they are very dangerous animals but except for dogs and cats they’ve been my favorite animal since I was a kid. I’m fascinated by them.
