I found myself writing a gripe-out email today to CBS for the garbage smears they have inserted in their top-rated show NCIS. Last night, they smeared Sarah Palin, implying she is a trigger-happy and irresponsible shooter. Last week, they misquoted Rush Limbaugh, stating that he believes that (legal) immigration is a grave threat to the country.
Gone is the crisp inter-character play from previous seasons. In its place some flaming liberal writer has taken it upon themselves the alienate fully half the audience for the show.
Am I the only person to have noticed, or does this really appear to be just another prong in the libtard attack repertoire? (How's that for a mixed metaphor?)
I hadn’t thought of that angle.
NCIS-LA is crap. The characters aren’t even believable, the plot is swiss cheese, and the so called technology doesn’t even make sense, even for make believe technology.
I watched it once, and couldn’t finish.
I made an observation that kinds of sums up my opinion vis-a-vis NCIS versus NCIS-LA.
I can definitely picture Mark Harmon as a Marine Gunnery Sergeant.
I cannot picture LL Cool J as a penguin, much less a SEAL.
Thanks. I’ve never seen an episode but have seen the promos.
Annie Oakley will not be trying to win the moderate and female voters in any future elections.
Law and Order’s been far lefty for a long time. Long time. McCoy is bleeding heart, even if he comes off as ‘Maximum Bob’.
That’s what makes him sexy for the hairy-armpit set - tough on crime, soft on harp seals. Hard on pharmas, soft on socialism.
Oh yes! Her line of fire would’ve been a widow-maker under normal TV-land circumstances.
I tried to watch it but it missing a lot that the parent series has. It was as hard to watch as the last season of the Unit which started out pretty good.
I agree with both your statements about the actors.
With polls showing many female voters bothered more by Palin’s Alaska wolf cull program than any other Palin policy flip use of her name with the wild shotgunning was no coincidence. Expect more of the same type Palin bashing from the trendy set.
I can’t tell you, but I’m not surprised. I gave the show up finally because I can’t stand some of the characters, i.e. Tony and the Israeli girl.
Jag was always pro military and never saw any prejudice.
There are several shows I’ve given up because of (what they think) is subtle liberal bias, Law and Order for one.
I hate anything on CBS because one is subjected to the endless clips from Letterman which seems to be all they have for commercials and I can’t stand the sight of the man.
Don’t think Mandy is doing any television right now. He was on criminal minds but quit that show.
Wasn’t he great in Princess Bride? One of my favorite movies.
Just saw the Sarah Palin part. How disappointing! I may have to ban the show from our household without some kind of retraction. Big mistake.
Gibbs could also have used Mike Frank's daughter in law as an example, but the woman wouldn't have know who he was talking about.
NCIS has always been biased against conservatives. A few seasons ago they had an episode about an Islamo-fascist killer. During the episode one of the co-stars opined to Mark Harmon’s character about how nasty Islamo-fascists were. And Mark Harmon responded by talking about abortion clinic bombers being just as bad. NCIS has always been very p.c. liberal.
Don’t brow beat me out of the conservative movement
but I don’t watch Beck either. I believe in what he says
I just don’t like to look at him and hear him say it.
Actually, I agree with the statement that abortion clinic bombers are as bad as islamo-fascist terrorists, if the bombing kills people.
Both perps want to use violence and the threat of violence to force others to submit to their will.
I’ve not noticed much in the way of bias one way or the other in the past seasons of NCIS, personally.
Why did the writers feel the need to mention aborton clinic bombers in the first place? For one thing, abortion clinic bombers or murderers are not exactly the global threat that is islamo-fascist violence. The writers sought some sort of moral equivocation as if the threat from the far right is as great as that of the insane muslim killers.
They felt the need because of their inherent liberal bias (obviously). But their bias doesn’t reduce the single-act similarity between the bomber and the islamic terrorist.
The difference, as you point out, is in the scale of the threat. The nature of the acts are similar (and are similarly heinous), but the scale of the islamist threat is light years beyond the fringe abortion bomber threat.
Just my $.02, of course. YMMV.
I’m with you on the Beck thing. Can’t stand to watch him. I don’t disagree with most of what he says. He just has an annoying delivery.
I finished watching Tuesday’s NCIS, and I’ve decided we can keep watching the show. The Sarah Palin thing was meant to be funny. Hubby and our second oldest daughter thought it was hilarious and did not think it was a slam.
