Arkansas Anchorwoman's Face Shattered 'Like an Egg' During Attack

November 10, 2009

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — One blow ruined her smile and others crushed the middle of her face, but the attack on television personality Anne Pressly didn't end until after her jaw was forced to the back of her head and cut off blood flow to her brain, a medical examiner said Tuesday.

Prosecutors rested their capital murder case against Curtis Lavelle Vance, 29, after testimony from the state's deputy medical examiner, who spoke about Pressly's final moments of consciousness.

Vance, of Marianna, has pleaded not guilty to murder, rape and burglary. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

Defense lawyers questioned crime scene technicians about where they did — and did not — find blood, and asked Police Chief Stuart Thomas whether officers explored multiple theories. He said they had.

DNA specialists initially questioned by prosecutors were recalled to the stand to discuss genetic evidence gathered at the scene that didn't have a match.

Well, I hope they have the right guy.

And when he’s convicted, maybe a firing squad... of Louisville sluggers would be apropos.

Well, I hope they have the right guy.

Well they have his skin under her fingernails, semen from her vagina and anus, hair from his head, pubic hair on her bed, blood from his cuts, and fibers from his car.

He's a dead man walking. Unfortunately, her parents will probably pass before some liberal frees him because of a technicality, or "he was abused" defense, dies of old age, etc.

I say let him out of the courtroom SAT AM at sunrise wearing antlers....right when modern gun season for deer starts in Arkansas.

A brutal and horrific murder of a lovely girl. Time for on-the-spot execution of killers: this is all the process that is due these kinds of vermin.

That’s good! I’m tired of hearing all this talk questioning whether the police have the perp and putting the kibosh on the death penalty as ineffective.

I haven’t been following the trial or the evidence in this case.

Such a savage attack, I couldn’t even get myself to finish reading the whole story. I pray this monster gets what is coming to him, not just here on Earth, but in the pits of Hell.

In Virginia or Texas, a man convicted of this sort of crime would only serve about 5-10 years in prison.

Then they'd stick a needle in his arm and send him off to final judgment.

This is interesting - anyone know anymore about what was asked?

my guess is the defense jury-shopped real hard for 12 jurors who could not understand the concept of DNA evidence if Elmo and Big Bird explained it to them at 1/4 speed.

The dumbing-down of our schools has tragic, real life consequences.

He may languish in prison for several years before his death. Then again, we thought the same about Jeffrey Dahmer.

It’s difficult to believe that such savagery could be random.

My heart still breaks for Anne’s poor mother having found her sweet and beautiful daughter and having that image forever burned into her memory. Yet, Anne was still alive and she got to be with her before she died. A loving parent would want that regardless of the circumstances.

God bless Anne’s parents to see justice served, and give them the strength and comfort that can come only from Him.

“It’s difficult to believe that such savagery could be random.”

She probably “dissed” him or did something during the attack that set him off.

So now send him someplace where he will be “set upon” when he goes off (might be surprised at his restraint) and when he pays his debt (don’t make it too long) he will see that he is only a wannabe Billy Bad... he will meet the real thing.

How awful for her family to have to learn all the explicit details of what she endured before she died. I don’t know how a parent ever gets past something like this.

POS Hasan didn’t commit mass murder in Texas. He committed mass murder in The Army ... The Army will try him. I believe that the Army prosecutors are seeking death penalty.
