This would be accurate only if a random sample of people from each country presented themselves.

But it would be more accurate to say, that Norwegians who think they are good-looking are more likely to be correct than Britons who think they are good-looking. Or, Britons are optimistic, while Norwegians have a more realistic attitude.

I suppose we all have our preferences, and I hold nothing against Norwegian women (for the moment, at least). But to my trained eye, Ukrainian and Polish women are among the world’s most devastating.

Various kinds of ugliness has been known to come wrapped in “beautiful” packages. The evaluation of the outside of the package is affected by the contents.
