I thought that they decided that America’s Cup boats were only going to be single hulled.

I haven’t been paying attention at all. But on trips down to the waterfront I noticed the Oracle camp and have been wondering what they were up to. I think the video at the second link explains it.

Yeah, trimarans just don’t cut it for me in the Cup...just not in the spirit if ya ask me...

That doesn’t make sense because all the races I remember have been single hulled boats which by nature are slower than multi hulled boats.

While the tech is cool, I think this development is lame. The America’s Cup should be about sailing prowess, not high-tech whiz-bang one-upsmanship.
