The problem is then, as soon as the R’s walk out, the Dems could immediately call for a vote and considering that Dingell is playing rules games anyway, he’ll probably ignore the quorum rule and allow the vote to take place without the Republicans. It will then be a vote between the 40 or so blue dogs and the rest of the dems and it will be sure to pass.

He just let the Democrat congresswoman from NY pontificate for about five minutes, then when a Republican made a 10 second statement, he objected and penalized the Republican.

If the Marxist left has the votes anyway, it would be wise of the Republicans to leave. That way, democrats voting for this abomination are right out in front. This bill is their anti- freedom Armageddon. Americans will NOT be happy. The democrats will have no place to hide.
If the Republicans are there though, it may be blocked. If they aren’t there, they could call for a voice vote (yea, no) and there won’t be enough voices with the blue dogs and they would pass it with a voice vote only. If the R’s are there, they could call a voice vote, and the could be enough No votes to have a name by name vote which could be defeated if we reach the magic 41(?) blue dog cross over number.
Walking out may not be wise if we suspect Dingell would suspend the Quorum rule.
Actually the Democrat from NY and the Republican from Tx. Have the floor for each party. They are yeilding time to other speakers. They can use as much time as they have been given or yeild to others.

It appears the DUmmies have just learned that citizens will be forced to PAY for their health insurance or get fined. They wanted everyone else to pay for theirs. They’re not happy with the idea of buying their own. They’re saying paying for their own health insurance is just a Republican lie, because what they wanted was a free ride bill.
We need to use that.

I have been waiting for this to sink in. I cannot count the number of wealthy people I have heard saying that THEY need this bill because they have a medical condition and are paying too much for health insurance. These are exactly the folks who are going to be taxed, fined, forced into one-size-fits-all insurance plans and still denied care on the grounds of age or a bureaucratic cost/benefit basis.
Most people cannot afford these premiums. We will be forced onto a very limited Medicaid program. Now, Medicaid recipients that I am aware of get absolutely top-notch care, cutting edge treatment and cost be hanged. How long before they wake up and realize that they, too, are going to sacrifice?
Only the tyrants benefit.
