I think I hear "don't throw me into dat briar patch" or Buckeye tree . (genus Aesculus)
A market based solution , perfect . This is a great country full of great Americans .
When I watch a home game for Boise State that blue field literally makes me dizzy.
Me too....if they want to be taken seriously, they need to get rid of it.
College Football quick ping before the live thread gets posted in a few hours.
The problem is that Boise State is better than all those teams on the list.
The more Oregon wins the higher in the BCS standings Boise rises.
Scrap the BCS but without Congress getting involved. Bring on the 16 team playoff system!
I like their blue field, it freaks out opponents.
BCS = BIG CROCK OF SHIITE!!!!
The Big 12 South is down a little this year, but last year with Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech, it was pretty rough.
I really respected Texas and Ohio State for scheduling each other early on a couple of years ago, but those types of games are going away, cause one loss puts you out of consideration for the National Championship.
The problem with Boise State playing TCU is that neither team can draw fans, and neither is a BCS team. The BCS will continue to freeze out the non-BCS conferences because they do not want to share the money.
However, I remember when Orrin Hatch made some noise about congressional hearings, since his Utah Utes were also frozen out and the screaming from the sports press and here on FR was deafening.
I think there are some legitimate questions about the BCS system, and that there’s a strong possibility that the big conferences engage in collusion and violation of anti-trust laws. The NCAA is, IMHO, a very corrupt organization. Think about the money the big schools make off the labor of unpaid athletes. Very few of the rules are seriously designed to ensure a quality education, but they ARE designed to make sure student athletes don’t make any money. Of course, if a cash cow college breaks a few rules **cough** Reggie Bush, USC **cough** the NCAA will find a way to work around it. Then, Oklahoma State loses the services of a player for not admitting he was friends with Deion Sanders.
Urban should be open to the idea..after all..he went through the same thing when he coached Utah..
