Why I'll support Carly Fiorina from day 1 for California governor --(Vanity)
self

Posted on 11/04/2009 11:24:50 AM PST by RonnieFan

Two words… “Barbara Boxer,” the mental midget for whom no US surrender is too quick, no tax too high and no government program too big.

Sometimes the smart fight is the good fight and a partial victory better than a moral victory. California is not a red state or a purple state where a RHINO is a defeat. It is one of the bluest of the blue. BHO won California by 24% and 3,000,000 votes. BHO won here by more votes than the total votes cast in New Jersey last night! Boxer won her last race by 20%.

You may say… what about the recall of Gray Davis for the then conservative Arnold or Christie’s win in New Jersey last night…doesn’t that show a conservative can win in a liberal state? Sadly voters are much more likely to blame a politician at the executive level such as governor than at the congressional level. Many who voted for Arnold later voted for their liberal representatives in Washington and Sacramento.

More importantly, Boxer has a huge war chest already and is personally one of the wealthiest Senators in Washington. Besides loads of money, she’ll have the teachers and other powerful unions behind her. It will take a billionaire to beat her, even if that billionaire is a RINO.

I’ll do this even though I like everything I heard and read about Chuck DeVore. That’s because I live in a state that may make Jerry “moonbeam” Brown both the youngest and oldest governor to serve here.

Your title shows confusion on your part. Fiorina is running for Senate not governor. And frankly I prefer Devore and will do EVERYTHING I can to make sure he wins. The state is not necessarily liberal. The central valley and other portions of the state have the capacity to derail Boxer but we need a strong no nonsense candidate. Carly ain’t it.

Frankly I would rather that someone like you stay home. You cannot even figure out what race she is in. And for the record those of us who really are conservative voted for McClintock in the recall. If you had done likewise The Schwarzenkennedy would not have been elected the first time

I’m still furious at the whole support Arnuld line. He hasn’t done anything for Cali let alone conservatives.

“You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream — the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order — or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, ‘The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits.’” Ronald Wilson Reagan

Compare that to the “my way or the highway” mentality today. Reagan won two landslides. The first when he was consider a radical by his own party.

Reagan lost in the 1976 primary, quickly dismissed any talk of a 3rd party run and supported the ticket. Those bridges not burned in 1976 served him well in 1980.

Hey, it's a free country.

But I'd pull for anyone but Fiorina pre-primary. She's a McCain-style RINO.

I am sure Fiorino would be glad to learn that you’re supporting her for governor. But since she’s running for Senator then I don’t think she’ll take you up on the offer.

Explain to me how you advance conservatism by becoming more liberal. In your own words, no quotes.

And read your Reagan quote again. If you think that applies to RINOs, you really don't have a clue.

Support DeVore and then we can be friends. It is a primary for goodness sake. Support the conservative

So, beating Boxer is more important than sticking to principles? Isn’t this how you got Arnold? And how we got Scozzofava in NY?

I used to think that way. A couple of RINOS really took me to school, over time.

Carly has no detectable personality except a dragging, negative, bad one; and no accomplishments, unless you count trashing HP then making off with a golden egg.

I worked at HP during the Carly Years. The employees had been positive, cheerful, hardworking, good folks. Every time she had a company-wide talk, shoulders slumped, and people crept about as if they’d lost a war. She was negative and whiny, and bad for the company.

AND she farmed off all the IT support to India, and Canada.

I am saying (A) I don’t think she’d be a good Senatrix, and (B) I don’t think she’d be a good candidate.

So tell me more about DeVore.

Rintense, glad to... How is Fiorina more liberal than Boxer? Would I prefer DeVore? Of course, but what chance does he have to win? Slim and none and slim is a stretch.

Would I love the homerun of replacing Boxer with a true conservation? Yes, but I want the best shot to beat Boxer. Boxer, is not a RINO, not a moderate or not even a liberal… she’s a radical. There are plenty of other places in 2010 where electing conservatives in the primary will result in the victory of conservatives in the general election. This is just not one of them.

Boxer is so bad she make McCain look like Reagan. Heck there’s probably 20 Democratic Senators I’d support to replace Boxer if it were possible and it would get rid of her.

I was fortunate enough to be around Dave Packard when Carly was running HP. I remember the day (very clearly) when he had had enough and was going to headquarters to throw her out on her a$$. He had a full head of steam and was not at all happy with her performance. I will not be supporting her for anything.

I thought the Agilent spin-off was terrible. I use Agilent automated test equipment, and I find the lack of cohesion between the HP UNIX computer and the tester is one of my biggest headaches. I think Agilent dumped the HP box in it’s newer models.
