FR can't post threads from the Lower Hudson newspaper.
Some more good news.
I just wanted to let everyone know that a Republican and Pro-Life Catholic who is the station manager and program director of The Catholic Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio, Rob Astorino, won the election for County Executive for Westchester County, a liberal democrat bastion outside of NYC. He was attacked by the non-religious, pro-abortion left for being anti-femal and pro life. And still won!
.
Could liberal Westchester County be waking up?
Rush did an entire segment on this revelation this morning.
He even got a call from a Westchester county voter that even she was surprised that a deep blue location went for a dude who’s day job is talking to the Cardinal every morning on satellite radio..
...libs running around with hair on fire this AM
Does that mean he is against that stuff they put in Italian Sausage?
Well, when housing prices fall by 40%, and property taxes rise by 40%..and nothing ever gets done, or seems to work right..
Yes, Rob ran on our property tax issue! And won by a rather large margin. Long time dem spending politician Spano is out!
Isn’t that where the Clinton house was purchased?
The Democrats failed to get out the pro-fennel vote.
Yes - in Chappaqua, NY - Westchester County
.
WooHoo for prolife!
yes, Chappaqua is in Northern Westchester. It’s a pretty large and populous county .. not to mention ‘diverse’ in every way Westchester is home not only to the Clintons but also to Soros, Martha Stewart, and half of Wall Street. It also has pockets of inner city poverty.
Westchester property taxes are so out of control. When I was visiting last Summer, we drove past the Clinton house, en route to an old friend’s home about 2 blocks away. My host said our friend’s property taxes are probably in the $60K a year bracket. Nice house, but $60K annual property taxes absolutely blew my mind.
That is crazy.
What would taxes be on a modest house? Say the (make it easy) $100,000 range?
well, that’s the thing .. houses are enormously expensive, taxes worse in Westchester. I doubt you could find anything for $100K in all of Westchster, and absolutely not in Chappaqua. My friend has a modest home there - and I do mean modest, cape cod type house - and it would still go for $500K or more.
*snort*There likely AREN'T any in that price range in Westchester County!
$100k in Westchester ? That’ll get you a slightly-used outhouse.
