Assume the statutory speed limit of 70 MPH; the tendency of the local constabulary to ignore violations up to 5 MPH over; A stream of traffic in the right-hand lane averaging 68-72 MPH; and a certain sense of scofflawry and haste on my part that may rise to the level of a ticket without tipping over into the “reckless” category; and the fact that I am therefore in the continuous process of "passing on the left" all of those law-abiding drivers in the right lane.
A question: exactly how fast must I be going before I must make way for a non-emergency vehicle intent upon hitching ride in my trunk?
Someone once told me that 20-over is an acceptable maximum. That’s 90 MPH. I had to ask, "are you serious?"
Geesh... Never mind. You’re so sure I’m the only thing between you and the great wide open.... and that’s just not the argument I’ve made.
I see it all the time, one wanker playing King of the World in the passing lane and pretending not to notice all the aggravation, anger, and lane changing that he is causing. On this thread you can see a couple of the personalities that admit to that type behavior and how unwilling they are to stop it, in fact they play the same role on this thread through stubborn intransigence.
Who exactly is the "wanker" on an ego trip who is plowing through demanding everyone else change lanes? ;)

If you drive a big rig 10 feet off someone's bumper at high speeds, you are a danger to the public. You need to find another profession.

Yes, people driving on the autoban, in the left lane, at speeds up to 200 MPH are quite common and you MUST move over to the right lane, no matter how fast you are moving, in order to let faster traffic pass you on the left. Great system and it works.
It has been the discussion, actually.
Selfish people who want to go faster than the right lane, but not fast enough for the left lane camp out in the left lane ruin traffic flow.
They belong in the right lane, or middle.
Left is for passing. Either speed up or get over.
