Fragile Existence
We should not trust in ourselves but in God. 2 Corinthians 1:9
The geological features at Yellowstone National Park fascinate me. But when I walk among the geysers, Im aware of how close I am to danger. I am walking atop one of the largest, most active volcanoes in the world.
When I read the book of Job, I feel as if Im walking through Yellowstone on a day when the volcano erupts, exploding the earths fragile crust and bringing disaster.
Like tourists at Yellowstone, Job was enjoying life. He was unaware that only a hedge separated him from disaster (Job 1:9-10). When God removed that hedge and allowed Satan to test Job, his life exploded (vv.13-19).
Many believers live in circumstances where it seems as if God, for some reason, has removed His hedge of protection. Others, also for reasons unknown, live in relative calm, seemingly unaware of their fragile existence. Like Jobs friends, they assume that nothing bad will happen unless they do something to deserve it.
As we learn from Job, however, God sometimes allows bad things to happen to good people. Although disaster can strike at any moment, nothing has the power to destroy those who trust Christ (2 Cor. 4:9). No disaster can separate us from Gods love.
Though darker, rougher, grows the way
And cares press harder day by day,
With patience in His love Ill rest,
And whisper that He knoweth best. Pentecost

Hi, Amy! I missed yesterday, you missed Tuesday - how the heck are you?! Seems like we haven't 'talked' in ages! :)
If I had jaycee's "TY-for-the-ty-for-the-ty" card, I could thank you properly for all the pretty thank yous you posted yesterday. :)

Thanks so much, Billie. I found that beautiful image of the shell and then just happened to find a simple little poem that fit perfectly. (I like simple,
understandable poems - and the imagery of this one; especially the "seahorses stabled in the great green caves".) :-)
I didn't get a chance to tell you how much I LOVED that Deep Purple graphic that you posted awhile back. It was one of your prettiest! Well, everything you create is so well-done, but that purple one was especially pretty.
I have a dentist appointment this morning...ugh! TTYL (after the Novocain wears off). ;-)

I wonder why anyone would ever want to be a dentist because I've never heard a single person get excited about a dental appointment! LOL
Thanks, Lori - I'm glad you liked the Deep Purple graphic - thought the flower was so vivid and striking. :)

Good morning, Billie.
Hope things are sane in your household. :)
At the Just household, it is always something.
My BIL has been trying for over a year to get a tenant out of a rental house.
Since my SIL died, he does not make good decisions.
He came by this morning and told us that she wants $180 so she can move.
I told him that that was extortion!
I finally did what I should have done 6 months ago.
I called the sheriff and asked them what his next move should be.
Finishing the eviction procedure will give her another 6 days.
I've decided to stay on top of this for him.
He needs this rental income; I told him to accept no more payments!
Other than family stuff, I have nothing to do today. :)
Have a beautiful day.

Good afternoon, Meg.
Thank you for your "Happy Thursday" graphic.
It looks like a very quiet peaceful setting.
It makes me anxious to get to Avila Beach again.
We will be going for a couple of days week after next.
I think all of us are ready to get away.
Wishing you a Delightful Day.

Marissa doesn’t have anything very exciting but she love to find seashells to bring home.
She found a star dollar but I broke it! Probably the only one she will ever find. :(

I sure did enjoy your beautiful graphic and poem today, Lori. Both are so peaceful, makes me want to be there. The ocean is my favorite place....I could watch and listen to the ocean all day and never tire.

If I told you all the places I had to run to, you wouldn’t believe it. Did it hurt my hip and leg? The worst ever, isn’t that a disappointing outcome after all I’ve been through. My last appointment with the Orthopedist, he said the only alternative would be surgery and I told him I would have to think about that a loooooong time.
I had 2 birthdays to shop for today...daughter in law and sister in law! Its always something...LOL!
Red Hat Luncheon tomorrow and I am the hostess and planner! But thank goodness, all the planning is finished!
