The Kitten and the Falling Leaves
See the Kitten on the wall,
Sporting with the leaves that fall,
Withered leaves - one-two-and three -
From the lofty elder-tree!
Though the calm and frosty air
Of this morning bright and fair,
Eddying round and round they sink
Softly, slowly: one might think,
From the motions that are made,
Every little leaf conveyed
Sylph or Faery hither tending,
To this lower world descending,
Each invisible and mute
In his wavering parachute.
But the Kitten, how she starts,
Crouches, stretches, paws, and darts!
First at one, and then its fellow
Just as light and just as yellow.
There are many now - now one -
Now they stop and there are none:
What intenseness of desire
In her upward eye of fire!
With a tiger-leap half-way
Now she meets the coming prey,
Lets it go as fast, and then
Has it in her power again:
Now she works with three or four,
Like an Indian conjurer;
Quick as he in feats of art,
Far beyond in joy of heart.
Where her antics played in the eye
Of a thousand standers-by,
Clapping hands with shout and stare,
What would little Tabby care
For the plaudits of the crowd?

Happy Caturday, Rus.
Great advice this morning.
It is so easy to get caught up in gossip.
We sometimes forget how hurtful it can be.
Thank you for bringing us these lessons.
Have a super day.

Great 'Caturday' graphic and poem, and some great 'Caturday' posts!
I haven't been on much, as I have out of town guests.
I can see I have a lot of catching up on pings!
It may be several weeks, as my company will be here for some time.
I'll try to check in and let you all know I'm still with ya, sporatically!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
"HEY! WHERE'S THE LEFTOVER TURKEY?"
Happy Caturday, Everyone!
(And, Happy Dogurday, too!)

Good morning, Jaycee. Thank you.
Hope you are having a great day.
We are taking it kinda slow and easy today.
Our busy life begins again on Monday. :)
Happy Caturday.

Good Morning !!! Good Morning!!!
Waving from Los Angeles! Caturday is here and I am enjoying the weekend of peace and quiet!
Thanksgiving was awesome... a total of 49! Three turkeys, much food and a noisy fun family!
Tired? LOL... I’m exhausted but happy. We were able to have our granddaughter Shelby with us, and stay over night. She was glad to be here and is adjusting to her group home....Praise God!

I want a turkey sammich, too! (But, we ate out - and the food was so mediocre, that we didn’t even want a ‘doggy bag’ for leftovers.) It was nice not to have to slave away in the kitchen all day, and let someone else do the cookin’ and servin’, giving me time to enjoy my guests!
But, come Christmas, that turkey will be cooked in “Yorkie’s Kitchen”, with all the trimmings, and it will be to ‘die for!’
Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was WONDERFUL, pollywog!!! Wish I was there! (((HUGS)))

Teaching plan: America ‘an oppressive hellhole’
University outlines ‘re-education’ for those who hold ‘wrong’ views

A program proposed at the University of Minnesota would result in required examinations of teacher candidates on “white privilege” as well as “remedial re-education” for those who hold the “wrong” views, according to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. (FIRE)
“The university’s general counsel should be asked to comment as soon as possible,” said the letter from Adam Kissel, an officer with The FIRE. “If the Race, Culture, Class, and Gender Task Group achieves its stated goals, the result will be political and ideological screening of applicants, remedial re-education for those with the ‘wrong’ views and values, [and] withholding of degrees from those upon whom the university’s political reeducation efforts proved ineffective.”
By any “non-totalitarian” standards, he wrote, the plans being made so far by the school are “severely unjust and impermissibly intrude into matters of individual conscience.”
“These intentions violate the freedom of conscience of the university’s students. As a public university bound by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, the university is both legally and morally obligated to uphold this fundamental right,” he wrote.
The demands appear to be similar to those promoted earlier at the University of Delaware. As WND reported, the Delaware university’s office of residential life was caught requiring students to participant in a program that taught, “all whites are racist.”
Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist Katherine Kersten said the developing Minnesota plan would require teachers to “embrace and be prepared to teach our state’s kids the task force’s own vision of America as an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic.”
“The first step toward ‘cultural competence,’ says the task group, is for future teachers to recognize and confess their own bigotry. Anyone familiar with the reeducation camps of China’s Cultural Revolution will recognize the modus operandi,” she said.
Nevertheless, FIRE’s concern included the apparent plan for demands that teachers “discuss their own histories and current thinking drawing on notions of white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity, and internalized oppression.”
“Here’s the kicker,” Fire said in its report. “The college even realizes that its efforts to impose such a severe ideological litmus test may be unconstitutional.”
Think, act, teach our way or we will ‘re-educate you until you do!
