Her senior year was just a month old at Newfield High School in Selden when Tiana Rapp, 17, opened her gym locker and discovered someone had pilfered a whopping $150 from it.
Police have arrested a hall monitor, Linda Cubano, and charged her with three counts of petty larceny in connection with the thefts.
Rapp said she had reported the missing money to school officials, who suspected a student was responsible. But something didn't add up, she said, because the girls' lockers were patrolled by an adult hall monitor.
The criminal struck again a couple of weeks later: That time, Rapp was left $40 poorer...

The perp.
Gentlemen of the jury, what say you?
LOL Thanks SIDENET
That one unbuttoned button gives me the willies.
Cheers!
Why are highschoolers carrying around $40, much less $150.
I'm happy to serve society.

High school is a different place than it used to be. You can go into the poorest area in the US and you’ll still find the school halls filled with kids with $500 phones and $200 shoes.
Nothing more will happen to the hall monitor because all of the adults in the school are certainly secretly more irked at one of their own trumped by a mere student than by the adult’s crimes. They know that any one of them could be caught misbehaving, such as while disciplining a student, by hidden camera at any time. Puts them all on pins and needles. It is like the ACORN tapes and the Dem Party or MSM to school administrators or the Rodney King tape to the cops’ blue line.
I ran a football gambling pool to make money in high school. My best day was $50. Is she a better bookie or does mommy and/or daddy dote on her?
In other words their attitude is close to Obama’s in regard to Fox News, “How dare you expose the truth!”
Ladies and Gents, the future...........
Tiana Rapp, 17, caught a thief running a school Hannah Giles, 20 caught a bunch of thieves running a country
.......and with kids like these our future looks pretty bright!
Although....it's a good thing she didn't steal the camera too.
Admittedly, it’s been a long while since I was in high school, but...why would someone bring that kind of cash to school in the first place?
I rarely had more than my lunch money for that day, and when I did carry more (for whatever reason), it was in the front pocket of my jeans. No way I was gonna leave money in my locker where I couldn’t get to it for hours at a time.
At any rate, it’s good that they caught the creepy Anita Dunn-look a like who was doing the stealing.
I'm getting a Kathy Bates in 'Misery' vibe from her...
Agreed! Great post!
Addendum: Just so my first post is clear, I’m not blaming the students that were robbed. They should be commended for figuring out a way to catch the thief. I am just scratching my head as to why someone would risk bringing that much cash to school.
People are asking that question and I don’t have answer either. I was like you. I had to wash my mother’s car, promise not to whoop my brother for a month and that all sort of suck up before I could get a measly five bucks from her. At 16 I found it easier to just go get a job washing dishes at the local hospital. Mom was too much work.
I was just thinking that very thing.
I don’t think the video proves in a court of law that she was responsible for every other theft, including the $150. That’s why there will be no prosecution. REALLY SMART crime work would have been to risk leaving more than $100 in the locker again in order to get pictures AND a felony conviction.
