Thought I would bring an fyi to freeper students and educators who have a valid .edu address.

Microsoft has a time limited offer for Windows 7 and MS Office. You can purchase Windows 7 Professional upgrade version for 29.99 and MS Office for 59.95.

Some schools have a partnership deal with MS and some others don't with this you can purchase software at the price the partner schools receive it. This is a time limited offer though as it ends on Jan 3, 2010.

I know both were correct because they came up in the drop-down window as I began to type. I just picked them (in turn) instead of retyping. There's no reason from my end not to be notified. I also switched the two email addresses, thinking that may help. No luck. I even went to the extent of changing email addresses and passwords. No luck.

That's why I say I'm giving up. It's not that I need the access or the software. I'm happy with XP, and would only have it on hand should something happen and I'd want to expand horizons.

daughter goes to Glendale Community College... I checked and her school qualifies her but she does not have a personal edu address. So does that leave her out? Wondering how she can get a .edu address?

I checked yesterday and daughter’s school is valid. But daughter does not have a .edu address. I will call the school tomorrow and find out if that is possible.
I did apply for the australia.edu but that may take time.
