So my son was slouching at his desk in his reading class. The teacher comes up and says " If Obama walked in this class right no, what do you think he'd think about you?".
My son answered..."That I'm slouching?"
Teacher.."But what do you think he'd think ABOUT you?"
Son.." That I'm being lazy?"
Teacher.." and don't you want to make Pres. Obama proud? Don't you want to please him?"
I was stunned..I bust out laughing because it sounds so silly! I told my son I'm glad he didn't smart off about Obama because she is grading him, but that didn't seem appropriate (aside from sounding stupid) and to let me know if she does this kind of thing again. My son..know to be a bit of a drama king, kept exclaiming that she is trying to indocrinate him. I told him he's too smart for it to work..:)
I am sure your son will be as well!!!
My number four child is a comedian (and needs to be reigned in sometimes...actually a lot of times...but he is getting more restrain.).
When I told him Mr. SoandSo’s reaction he got defensive and said “it wasn’t for a grade, I thought he would laugh.” He was releived to know he did.
We are lucky...we are in a fairly ‘red’ part of PA.
A teacher asked her sixth grade class how many of them were Obama fans. Not really knowing what an Obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for little Johnny.The teacher asked little why he decided to be different. Little Johnny said "Because I'm not an Obama fan." The teacher asked "Why aren't you an Obama fan?" Johnny replied "Because I'm a Republican." The teacher asked him why he is a Republican. Little Johnny answered, "Well, my Mom's a Republican, my Dad is a Republican, so I'm a Republican."
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked "If your Mom was a moron and your Dad was an idiot, what would that make you?" With a big smile, little Johnny replied, "That would make me an Obama fan."
if my 7th grade included a fist hour, i wouldn’t think it was wonderful...

Go talk with the principal. A teacher should not be pushing these points with students.
To those saying I need to speak to the teacher and/or principal...I’m going to let this one slide.
1. I got a good laugh. How ridiculous to bring Obama into a slouching problem. Maybe he could lay a healing hand on all the slouchers?
2. She is a fill in while the reg. is out on Maternity leave.
3. My son is going to keep an eye on her and will let me know is she pulls anymore idiotic stunts. If so, then it may be time to speak out, but for now I just have to chuckle at the mind numbed robot.

Obama supporters like this teacher believe Obama is the messiah. It’s OK to praise, worship and shove down America’s throat the savior, but not Jesus. Simple denial of the truth by these folks doesn’t change the truth. We gotta pray for them...
For starters, you should be jailed for criminal child abuse just for incarcerating your son in a government indoctrination asylum...

NO WAY would I let my kid have to pretend to be muslim in public school.

His grades should not depend on how he responds to his teacher’s inappropriate attempts at political indoctrination. If you’re going to make his cell phone dependent on his grades, then you need to establish exactly how the grades are *supposed* to be calculated, and then ensure that they *are* calculated that way. And you should send him to school in a T-shirt with a big picture of Dick Cheney on the front.
The sad thing isnt that the teacher said it, but rather that the teacher would believe that Obama would give a hoot about a seventh grader.
Any time a teacher or anyone of authority asked me similar questions about supposed heroes of my youth, and my common response was “he doesn’t know me, so I dont think he would think about me at all.”
That usually got me in trouble.
I still feel that way when someone wants to go stand in line to meet a celebrity.
It really blows my mind that parents who aren't deadbeat meth-heads actually tolerate this.
I trust you went down to that school and flipped out on them ? Just curious, how did you let that happen for a full week. I would have stopped it one way or the other after day one myself.
